 Grant Opportunities Available Now! [Deadlines: August – September]

We have several grant opportunities that are available now and wanted to share them with you. Investing in our local non-profit organizations and supporting innovative ideas through funding is critical to help ensure each of our communities can thrive, now and into the future! The deadlines for these grants are through September, so make sure you apply soon. Spotlight: 4Culture Launch Grant
Launch is a brand-new grant program that King County’s 4Culture program is now accepting applications for!
The Launch program will support new and emerging cultural and science organizations in King County. Organizations that are selected through the Launch program will receive three years of unrestricted general operating support and will also have access to capacity-building support services.
Applicant must complete an eligibility pre-screening to access the full application. The pre-screening form is due Wednesday, August 13 at 5:00 p.m. Complete the form here! The full application will be due Wednesday, August 27 at 5:00 p.m.
4Culture has been offering workshops about the program throughout July and August. Workshops provide an opportunity for applicants to meet staff, learn about the process, meet other applicants, and ask questions.

Grant and Funding Sources
The following grant opportunities are listed in order of application due date, with the soonest deadline listed first. Any applications that have rolling deadlines are located towards the bottom of the list.
1. Puget Sound Energy Solar Grant
Applications are due Wednesday, August 13 @ 5 p.m. Find the application form here!
Details: Puget Sound Energy (PSE) is offering $750,000 in competitive funding to community-based organizations, government agencies, and tribal organizations in PSE’s electric service area to install solar at their property. Priority will be given to applicants serving communities with the deepest need including low-income and historically marginalized communities.

2. City of Woodinville Tourism Promotion Grants
Applications are due Friday, August 15 @ 12 p.m. Find the application form here!
Details: The goal of this program is to attract and welcome visitors to Woodinville throughout the year, stimulating the local economy and increasing the number of overnight hotel stays. Tourism grant funding may be used to support an event, program, or activity designed to increase tourism by promoting the city as a tourist destination.
Organizations eligible to receive grant funding include municipalities, business associations, destination marketing organizations, as well as cultural, historical, educational, recreational, and community non-profits.
The current estimate of funding for the 2026 grant period is $213,000 (subject to economic conditions and City Council approval).

3. King County Flood Control District Lake Sammamish Dock and Shoreline Grants Program

Details: The King County Flood Control District is allocating $1 million in grant funding to homeowners along the Lake Sammamish shoreline to undertake projects reducing the risk of flood damage to their homes and public infrastructure. This program aims to control shoreline erosion and simultaneously improve the habitat of our local salmon population.

4. King County MIDD Behavioral Health Services in Rural King County
Applications are due Friday, August 22 @ 2:00 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: This RFP seeks to support rural, community-driven behavioral health services in King County’s rural Community Service Areas in unincorporated King County. Eligible applicants must provide mental health or substance use services, including but not limited to prevention, treatment, recovery support, peer-based services, and care coordination with a goal of reducing geographic barriers to care.
All proposed services must be delivered entirely within Community Service Areas boundaries, including Bear Creek/Sammamish, Snoqualmie Valley/Northeast King County, and Four Creeks/Tiger Mountain, and adjacent cities and towns including Skykomish, Duvall, Carnation, Snoqualmie, and North Bend.

5. King Conservation District Regional Food System Grant Program

Details: This grant supports projects that strengthen the local food system in King County and advance climate resilience, food access, and community equity. The King Conservation District invites proposals in these categories:
- Climate-Smart Agricultural Practices
- Produce Quality and Health
- Capacity Building for Resiliency
Grant awards range from $25,000 to $100,000, with $440,000 in total funding available. The maximum project period is two years starting in January 2026.

6. WA State Department of Commerce Victims of Crime Victim Services

Details: Funding is available to develop and enhance healing-centered, culturally, and community specific support services for BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and unserved individuals who have experienced hurt, harm or crime. Services and activities must be provided by organizations that are operated by and for these communities. Applicants may request up to $75,000 per year for the three-year project cycle.

7. King County 2025 Family Child Care Facilities Fund
Applications are due Wednesday, September 3 @ 2:00 p.m. Pre-applications are due Wednesday, August 13 @ 2:00 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: The King County Department of Community and Health Services (DCHS) Housing and Community Development Division is pleased to release this fund to support the maintenance, repair, and improvement of existing Family Child Care Facilities.
Projects must maintain subsidized child-care slots, address critical health and safety needs for children, child-care workers, and child-care facilities, improve and/or enhance the quality of the learning environment, and/or support or address child-care license compliance and standards.

8. King County Vital (Familiar Faces) Program Supportive Housing

Details: This RFP makes available approximately $428,700 over four years for organizations to operate the supportive housing component of the Vital (also known as the Familiar Faces Intensive Care Management Team), which provides comprehensive and integrated services to adults who need intensive community-based support and may be experiencing homelessness.

9. NW Children’s Foundation Grant
Applications are due Friday, September 5 @ 11:59 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: This funding will go toward programs that focus on the prevention, early intervention, and treatment of child abuse, neglect, and trauma. Programs must aim to support children, strengthen families, and empower youth. NW Children’s Foundation prioritizes programs that focus on children, youth, and families who are in the foster care system, and/or experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, abuse, neglect, and other trauma.
Grants generally range from $5,000 to $20,000.

10. 4Culture Sustained Support – Midstream Cycle
Applications are due Wednesday, September 10 @ 5:00 p.m. Applicants are required to complete an eligibility pre-screening; drafts for the pre-screening are due Wednesday, August 27 @ 5:00 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: Sustained Support provides unrestricted operating support to assist with the day-to-day needs of arts, heritage, historic preservation, and science & technology organizations in King County.
Organizations that did not receive a Sustained Support grant for 2025-27 may apply for this 2026-2027 funding. Organizations that have already been awarded 2025-2027 Sustained Support grants do not need to reapply for 2026-2027.
You will not request a specific amount; awards are based on panel score, geographic and equity considerations, and budget size.

11. King County MIDD Community Driven Behavioral Health Grants
Applications are due Thursday, September 11 @ 2:00 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: This RFP funding will support community-driven behavioral health services and strategies in King County and work to increase culturally relevant, trauma-informed behavioral health services including mental health and substance use disorder services.
Eligible applicants must be small organizations with at least two years of experience in informing, engaging, assisting, and/or providing behavioral health services to communities including low-income, immigrant, refugee, LGBTQ+, and/or people of color.
Up to $2,120,000 in funding is available. Organizations may apply for up to $80,000 per year with a total maximum award of $160,000 over a two-year service period.

12. King County Housing Finance Program

Details: This RFP will support the acquisition, renovation, and new construction of affordable housing projects to address our region’s housing shortage. Projects are expected to serve a variety of populations including low-income individuals, people with disabilities, and people experiencing homelessness.
Eligible applicants include public housing and public development authorities, non-profit organizations, and certified community housing development organizations. Approximately $38,300,000 in capital funding is available in 2025.

13. WA State Department of Commerce Affordable Homeownership Projects
Applications are due Friday, September 26 @ 3:00 p.m. Click here to view the application materials. Applications are due via email to HOUApplication@commerce.wa.gov.
Details: This funding is available for community-based organizations, housing authorities, federally recognized tribes, and local governments for the creation of new housing units, purchase and rehabilitation of new housing units, affordability subsidies, and down payment assistance for low-income households in Washington state.
There is about $70 million in funding available and the maximum award per project is $6 million for new construction or acquisition, $4 million for affordability subsidies, and $3 million for down payment assistance.

14. King Conservation District Seed Money Grants
Rolling applications until Tuesday, September 30, or until funds are exhausted. Apply now at this link!
Details: Seed Money Grants support the creation of new community agriculture projects and help sustain existing projects. In turn, this promotes resilient food systems and communities and safeguards food sovereignty. Up to $3,500 in funding is available. Examples of eligible projects:
- Composting systems
- Micro (drip) irrigation
- Rainwater catchment
- Fruit tree/shrub plantings
- Native plantings
- Invasive species removal/weed control
