Your voice matters: Share your thoughts on the Black Diamond Sewer Upgrade Project
|
|
Get involved this summer! Join us at upcoming events and take our community survey.
We're doing an online survey for people who live in Black Diamond, Covington, Kent, Maple Valley, and unincorporated King County.
The survey will share information about the project. It will also ask for your thoughts on construction impacts, what matters most to the community, and how you like to get updates.
Your feedback will help us plan for construction and keep you informed in the ways that work best for you.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

Find us at a local community event this summer!
The Black Diamond Sewer Upgrade Project team has been helping people learn about the project and listening to community feedback. Since the project started, we’ve been going to events and talking with nearby schools.
This summer, we’ll be back out in the community at more events to keep the conversation going:
Stop by our booth to learn about the project, ask questions, and take the project’s community survey. Hope to see you this summer!
Our Black Diamond Sewer Upgrade Project outreach team was on-site at the Maple Valley Farmers Market last summer, sharing project updates and answering questions.

Project background
Black Diamond is one of the fastest-growing communities in the Puget Sound region. In 1992, in collaboration with King County, the City of Black Diamond built a regional sewer line to serve the area’s much smaller population. Today, King County Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD) needs to upgrade the existing sewer line because it’s reaching capacity.
This project will explore options to increase the capacity of 6 miles of regional sewer pipe. Upgrading the pipe will help King County serve the community's wastewater needs until 2070. The upgrade will also ensure reliable wastewater service to Black Diamond’s homes and businesses.
