 Grant Opportunities Available Now! [Deadlines: July – September]

We have several grant opportunities that are available now and wanted to share them with you. Investing in our local non-profit organizations and supporting innovative ideas through funding is critical to help ensure each of our communities can thrive, now and into the future! The deadlines for these grants are through September, so make sure you apply soon. Spotlight: 4Culture Launch Grant
Launch is a brand-new grant program that King County’s 4Culture is now accepting applications for!
The Launch program will support new and emerging cultural and science organizations in King County. Organizations that are selected through the Launch program will receive three years of unrestricted general operating support and will also have access to capacity-building support services.
Applicant must complete an eligibility pre-screening to access the full application. The pre-screening form is due Wednesday, August 13 at 5:00 p.m. Complete the form here! The full application will be due Wednesday, August 27 at 5:00 p.m.
4Culture is offering workshops about the program throughout July and August. Workshops provide an opportunity for applicants to meet staff, learn about the process, meet other applicants, and ask questions.

Grant and Funding Sources
The following grant opportunities are listed in order of application due date, with the soonest deadline listed first. Any applications that have rolling deadlines are located towards the bottom of the list.
1. Puget Sound Energy Transportation Emission Reduction Grants
Applications are due Wednesday, July 16 @ 5 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: Puget Sound Energy (PSE)’s Transportation Emission Reduction (TER) Grants program aims to accelerate the equitable adoption of electric transportation solutions and promote a healthier environment for our communities. Examples of eligible projects:
- Installing electrical vehicle charging infrastructure at a local hospital
- Assist transit agencies in purchasing electric buses
- Launch an e-bike incentive program for low-income residents
- Run an education and outreach campaign for e-bike safety
- Electrify a fleet of vehicles that serves seniors and people with disabilities
Applicants must either be, or be formally partnered with, a PSE non-residential customer and mostly benefit PSE electric residential community members.

2. King County Department of Public Health & Best Starts for Kids (BSK) Youth Healing Project
Applications are due Thursday, July 17 @ 2 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: This RFP will directly fund young people to work on projects that aim to improve mental health connection, healthy coping (can include addressing substance use), and the well-being of youth.
The Department of Public Health welcomes creative ideas that center young people and address the negative impacts of COVID-19. Funding is flexible and can be used for staffing, youth stipends, technology, materials and events.
Applicants must be between ages 14-24. Young people are encouraged to identify fiscal sponsors to help them with managing funds for their project. Youth under age 18 are required to have a fiscal sponsor.
Adults over the age of 24 and organizations cannot apply directly for this funding. If you are an organization interested in supporting this project you can contact the RFP lead to be added to a list of organizations interested in being fiscal sponsors for youth applicants. You are welcome to encourage a young person that you know to apply for this funding.

3. Veterans, Seniors, and Human Services (VSHSL) Human Services Workforce Stabilization

Details: This RFA aims to improve staff recruitment and retention within organizations with active Veterans, Seniors, and Humans Services Levy (VSHSL) awards providing human services in King County. Funds may be used to support staff across an organization through related expenses including, but not limited to:
- Increased wages
- Improved benefits
- Reduced cost of living such as housing, education, childcare subsidies or health insurance coverage
- Professional development and other training to improve service quality and staff wellness

4. Best Starts for Kids Help Me Grow

Details: This RFP seeks to invest in Family Connection Partners to implement King County’s Help Me Grow strategy. These community organizations would connect families, parents, and caregivers to the services and resources they need. Rather than simply giving families referrals, partners will ensure families receive direct, culturally and linguistically matched support to access the resources they need and how they need them.
Approximately $3,748,600 is available through Best Starts for Kids to support this work. Applicants may request a maximum of $650,000 for a two-year contract.

5. King County Council-allotted WaterWorks Grants
Applications are due Tuesday, July 29 @ 5 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: The WaterWorks Grant Program provides approximately $5 million in funding every two years to organizations carrying out a variety of water quality improvement projects in the service area for King County's regional wastewater system. This program funds projects like rain gardens, tree planting, community engagement and education on pollution prevention and source control, research, water quality monitoring, and stormwater retrofits.
When applying through the Council-allotted track, recipients are selected by the King County Council. When applying through the competitive track, recipients are selected by WaterWorks staff. Both tracks draw from the $5 million bucket but have different review processes and timelines.

6. King County Local Food Infrastructure Grant

Details: The Local Food System Infrastructure Grant Program provides one-time funding to strengthen King County’s regional food system by supporting critical infrastructure projects. The program will provide grants to eligible organizations and businesses for projects that enhance cold storage, aggregation, and local food processing capacity.
Eligible applicants may include hunger relief organizations, small to mid-sized farm businesses, food hubs, and nonprofit organizations that connect local farms with buyers and communities.
There is small-scale funding for projects up to $25,000 and large-scale funding for projects between $25,000 and $100,000.

7. 4Culture Building for Equity: Project Development

Details: The Building for Equity: Project Development Grants invest in the planning and development phases of a cultural facilities project. Applicants in the preparation, project initiation and planning, fundraising, and/or the early design phases are encouraged to apply.
There is $1.7 million available in the funding pool for this cycle. Applicants may receive awards of up to $50,000.

8. Puget Sound Energy Solar Grant
Applications are due Wednesday, August 13 @ 5 p.m. Find the application form here!
Details: Puget Sound Energy (PSE) is offering $750,000 in competitive funding to community-based organizations, government agencies, and tribal organizations in PSE’s electric service area to install solar at their property. Priority will be given to applicants serving communities with the deepest need including low-income and historically marginalized communities.
It is highly recommended you reach out to Spark Northwest for free grant writing assistance through this intake form. Request for grant writing assistance is due Thursday, July 31.

9. City of Woodinville Tourism Promotion Grants
Applications are due Friday, August 15 @ 12 p.m. Find the application form here!
Details: The goal of this program is to attract and welcome visitors to Woodinville throughout the year, stimulating the local economy and increasing the number of overnight hotel stays. Tourism grant funding may be used to support an event, program, or activity designed to increase tourism by promoting the city as a tourism destination.
Organizations eligible to receive grant funding include municipalities, business associations, destination marketing organizations, as well as cultural, historical, educational, recreational, and community non-profits.
The current estimate of funding for the 2026 grant period is $213,000 (subject to economic conditions and City Council approval).

10. King County Flood Control District Lake Sammamish Dock and Shoreline Grants Program

Details: The King County Flood Control District is allocating $1 million in grant funding to homeowners along the Lake Sammamish shoreline to undertake projects reducing the risk of flood damage to their homes and public infrastructure. This program aims to control shoreline erosion and simultaneously improve the habitat of our local salmon population.

11. King Conservation District Regional Food System Grant Program
Applications are due Monday, August 25 @ 5 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: This grant supports projects that strengthen the local food system in King County and advance climate resilience, food access, and community equity. The King Conservation District invites proposals in these categories:
- Climate-Smart Agricultural Practices
- Produce Quality and Health
- Capacity Building for Resiliency
Grant awards range from $25,000 to $100,000, with $440,000 in total funding available. The maximum project period is two years starting in January 2026.

12. NW Children’s Foundation Grant

Details: This funding will go toward programs that focus on the prevention, early intervention, and treatment of child abuse, neglect, and trauma. Programs must aim to support children, strengthen families, and empower youth. NW Children’s Foundation prioritizes programs that focus on children, youth, and families who are in the foster care system, and/or experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, abuse, neglect, and other trauma.
Grants generally range from $5,000 to $20,000.

13. King Conservation District Seed Money Grants

Details: Seed Money Grants support the creation of new community agriculture projects and help sustain existing projects. In turn, this promotes resilient food systems and communities and safeguards food sovereignty. Up to $3,500 in funding is available. Examples of eligible projects:
- Composting systems
- Micro (drip) irrigation
- Rainwater catchment
- Fruit tree/shrub plantings
- Native plantings
- Invasive species removal/weed control
