King County Wastewater Treatment Division will continue construction in your neighborhood this summer. Please read about what to expect as we improve wastewater infrastructure near you.
Construction schedules are approximate and subject to change.
Expect the contractor and traffic control devices, such as cones and signs around the work area. Please also anticipate increased noise on weekdays during work hours from equipment such as jack hammers, saws and construction vehicles. Some weekend work is possible.
This work is necessary to ensure permanent, reliable power for key wastewater facilities in West Seattle, protecting water quality in Puget Sound.

 Approximate roadway work areas in July.
Construction continues on 64th Avenue Southwest and Southwest Wilton Court in July.
During the first week of July, the contractor working for King County will continue digging in the roadway to install underground electrical lines near the intersection of 64th Avenue Southwest and Southwest Wilton Court.
Through July, crews will continue installing underground electrical lines along Southwest Wilton Court, heading west toward the Alki Wet Weather Treatment Station.
WHAT: Digging and temporary repaving.
- Temporary road closures during work hours. Construction crews will direct traffic in the area.
- Adjacent driveway access will be very limited during work hours. Individual residences will receive notice of upcoming driveway limitations at least 48 hours in advance.
WHEN: Ongoing through late July.
WHERE: 64th Avenue Southwest and Southwest Wilton Court.
- Crews will begin work at the intersection of 64th Avenue Southwest and Southwest Wilton Court at the beginning of the month, then move west.

 Equipment staging area in July.
Crews will continue staging equipment in the parking lane of Beach Drive Southwest between 63rd Avenue Southwest and 64th Avenue Southwest. They will direct alternating one-way traffic in the area during work hours.

- Some street parking spots along Beach Drive Southwest will be unavailable.

There will be multiple periods of sidewalk closures associated with the roadwork noted above. As crews move around the work area, they will direct sidewalk users as necessary to appropriate travel areas. There will be sidewalk detour signs to clearly communicate pedestrian routes.

In August, construction workers will begin repaving the road in the work areas and install electrical equipment at the 63rd Avenue Pump Station. Expect temporary road and sidewalk closures with detours marked. Stay tuned for monthly and as needed updates as we get closer to this work.
