Starting as early as July 8, crews will begin preparation for pipe relining at the intersection of 97th Avenue Southeast and Southeast 34th Street. Crews will be cleaning and inspecting the existing pipe before they install the new pipe liner. This work is expected to take up to two days to complete.
During work hours, there will be alternating single lane traffic directed by flaggers around the work area. The intersection will reopen to two-way traffic outside of work hours.
Crews will access the existing pipe at the intersection of 97th Ave S.E. and S.E. 34th St. Flaggers will be stationed around the work area to direct alternating single lane traffic.
Driveway access and parking advisory
Residents living near the work area may experience temporary driveway access restrictions for up to four hours while crews complete preparation work. "No parking" signs will be in place around the intersection, and crews will alert residents whose driveway access will be limited.
If you plan to leave your home during permitted work hours (7 a.m. to 7 p.m.), please plan to park on neighboring streets outside of the work area. If you have access concerns, please contact the Community Services team at 425-305-3578 or NMEsewer@kingcounty.gov.
Pipe relining
After preparation is complete, crews will restore the intersection and replace the temporary metal plates on the roadway. Pipe relining is expected to occur later this summer. We will provide an update with more information on what to expect during this work.
