 Grant Opportunities Available Now! [Deadlines: June – July]

We have several grant opportunities that are available now and wanted to share them with you. Investing in our local non-profit organizations and supporting innovative ideas through funding is critical to help ensure each of our communities can thrive, now and into the future! The deadlines for these grants are through July, so make sure you apply soon. Launch is a brand-new grant program that King County’s 4Culture will begin accepting applications for soon!
The Launch program will support new and emerging cultural and science organizations in King County. Organizations that are selected through the Launch program will receive three years of unrestricted general operating support and will also have access to capacity-building support services.
The program is not accepting applications yet, but the deadline will be Wednesday, August 27.
In the meantime, 4Culture will be offering workshops about the program throughout July and August. Workshops provide an opportunity for applicants to meet staff, learn about the process, meet other applicants, and ask questions.

The following grant opportunities are listed in order of application due date, with the soonest deadline listed first. Any applications that have rolling deadlines are located towards the bottom of the list.
1. Community-Based Parenting Supports, Home-Based Services, and Universal Developmental Screening & Promotion
Applications are due Friday, June 20 @ 2:00 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: The King County Public Health Department, via the Best Starts for Kids program, seeks partners who are reflective of and rooted in the communities they serve to offer strengths-based services that center relationships and trust to pregnant individuals, families, and children under the age of six. Partners will implement projects within the following areas:
- Community-Based Parenting Supports: community-centered services enhancing maternal-child health, encourage nurturing relationships, and increase caregiver knowledge of child development and social well-being
- Home-Based Services: support in the places families live to support healthy births, positive parenting, health education, child development, safe home environments, and school readiness
- Universal Developmental Screening & Promotion: information, training, tools, and connection among providers to ensure all King County children receive high-quality developmental screening throughout early childhood

2. 4Culture Landmarks Capital
Applications are due Wednesday, June 25 @ 5 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: 4Culture’s Landmarks Capital program supports the bricks-and-mortar projects that contribute to our region’s social, cultural, and historical identity. This program funds individuals and organizations who are working to rehabilitate designated historic landmarks in King County.
Projects that center marginalized communities and that contribute to the diversity of property types and histories represented in King County’s built environment will receive additional consideration. Grants are capped at $100,000.

3. WA Department of Agriculture Farm to School Purchasing Grants
Applications are due Thursday, July 3 at 5 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: WSDA Farm to School Purchasing Grants are reimbursement grants to support child nutrition programs with funds to purchase foods grown, raised, caught, or foraged in Washington State with an emphasis on procurement from small and direct marketing farms and food businesses, including socially disadvantaged, beginning, limited resource, women and veteran farmers and ranchers.

4. 4Culture Equipment for Organizations

Details: From museum shelving and stage lights to ceramic kilns and microscopes, 4Culture’s Equipment for Organizations grant offers up to $15,000 to support these needs and more for arts, heritage, historic preservation, and science organizations in King County.

5. Puget Sound National Estuary Program’s Ecology Neighborhood Stormwater Education Grant
Applications are due Friday, July 11 @ 5 p.m. Download the application materials at this link!
Details: This grant funds education and assistance programs to encourage implementation and maintenance of stormwater best management practices in local neighborhoods. $1,000,000 total available for this fund. Maximum amount per proposal is $400,000.
Projects may use multiple methods to educate about GSI and proper maintenance. Funded activities include education and outreach, technical assistance, creating stewardship plans, and updating infrastructure to current standards.

6. Youth Mental Health Fund
Applications are due Thursday, July 10 @ 5 p.m. Links to applications for specific grants within the fund are found below.
Details: This program aims to expand access to community-based mental health care for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ youth between the ages of 12-24. It will also fund work to shift narratives around culturally grounded care and healing experiences that center the unique needs and strengths of marginalized youth.
There are two types of grants organizations can apply for:

Anchor Grants: General operating support grants ranging from $100,000-$250,000 for youth mental health organizations or projects that have been operating for 5 years or more with organizational budgets over $2,000,000.

Opportunity Grants: General operating support grants ranging from $30,000–$100,000 for organizations or projects that have been operating for less than 5 years and/or have budgets under $2,000,000 OR Project-specific grants for new innovative solutions, pilots, one-time projects, etc.

7. King County Department of Public Health & Best Starts for Kids (BSK) Youth Healing Project
Applications are due Thursday, July 17 @ 2 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: This RFP will directly fund young people to work on projects that aim to improve mental health connection, healthy coping (can include addressing substance use), and the well-being of youth.
The Department of Public Health welcomes creative ideas that center young people and address the negative impacts of COVID-19. Funding is flexible and can be used for staffing, youth stipends, technology, materials and events.
Applicants must be between ages 14-24. Young people are encouraged to identify fiscal sponsors to help them with managing funds for their project. Youth under age 18 are required to have a fiscal sponsor.
Adults over the age of 24 and organizations cannot apply directly for this funding. If you are an organization interested in supporting this project you can contact the RFP lead to be added to a list of organizations interested in being fiscal sponsors for youth applicants. You are welcome to encourage a young person that you know to apply for this funding.

8. Veterans, Seniors, and Human Services (VSHSL) Human Services Workforce Stabilization

Details: This RFA aims to improve staff recruitment and retention within organizations with active Veterans, Seniors, and Humans Services Levy (VSHSL) awards providing human services in King County. Funds may be used to support staff across an organization through related expenses including, but not limited to:
- Increased wages
- Improved benefits
- Reduced cost of living such as housing, education, childcare subsidies or health insurance coverage
- Professional development and other training to improve service quality and staff wellness

9. King Conservation District Seed Money Grants
Rolling applications until Tuesday, September 30, or until funds are exhausted. Apply now at this link!
Details: Seed Money Grants support the creation of new community agriculture projects and help sustain existing projects. In turn, this promotes resilient food systems and communities and safeguards food sovereignty. Up to $3,500 in funding is available. Examples of eligible projects:
- Composting systems
- Micro (drip) irrigation
- Rainwater catchment
- Fruit tree/shrub plantings
- Native plantings
- Invasive species removal/weed control
