Following Governor Ferguson’s signing of HB 2015 today, King County Executive Shannon Braddock released the following statement:

"I want to thank Governor Ferguson and the state Legislature for passing HB 2015, giving King County a new tool that will help us meet critical public safety needs and address the structural challenges in our General Fund budget,” said Executive Braddock. “I look forward to advancing a proposal quickly so we can craft a responsible budget that prevents deep cuts and that makes targeted investments in the essential services our communities rely upon.” 

“It is my hope that the legislature continues the conversation in future sessions on how we can make our tax system better support local governments and the wide range of state-mandated services they provide.”
