King County Councilmember Dunn with law enforcement officers
During National Police week, we honor the more than 24,000 fallen officers nationwide who have tragically lost their lives in the line of duty. We will never forget their sacrifice.
We also pay our respects to the men and women in uniform who continue to protect and serve our communities day in and day out. I especially want to recognize our brave King County Sheriff's Office deputies: thank you for your courage and dedication to keeping us safe.
King County Councilmember Reagan Dunn at the I-90 SR 18 Interchange
As of 9pm last night, WSDOT has closed both directions of SR 18 beneath the I-90 bridges around the clock for 5 days. Visit the WSDOT webpage to learn more about the I-90 – SR 18 Interchange Improvements project.
In anticipation that this closure would cause a headache for commuters, many months ago I sent a letter to WSDOT, which was also signed by local Mayors and impacted organizations, asking that WSDOT convene an interagency task force so that local jurisdictions can give feedback on how best to mitigate the worst traffic effects of the five-day closure. To learn more about my initiative, see last week's e-newsletter.
