We have several grant opportunities that are available now and wanted to share them with you. Investing in our local non-profit organizations and supporting innovative ideas through funding is critical to help ensure each of our communities can thrive, now and into the future! The deadlines for these grants are through June, so make sure you apply soon. Grant and Funding Sources
The following grant opportunities are listed in order of application due date, with the soonest deadline listed first. Any applications that have rolling deadlines are located towards the bottom of the list.
1. Steve Bleifuhs Memorial Flood Reduction Grants
Applications are due Friday, May 23 @ 11:59 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: The King County Flood Control District Steve Bleifuhs Memorial Flood Reduction Grant Program funds medium and small local flood reduction projects in King County. The total amount available is $13 million. There is no minimum or cap on the individual award amount. Grants awarded in the past have ranged from $10,000 to $1,500,000. The Flood Control District is offering funds in four categories:
- Original Flood Reduction Grants
- Urban Streams
- Coastal Erosion/Coastal Flooding
- Culvert Replacement/Fish Passage

2. Vets Engaged
Applications are due Friday, May 30 @ 2 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: Vets Engaged is a social engagement funding program of the 2024-2029 King County Veterans, Seniors, and Human Services Levy (VSHSL). It awards small grants for entities to convene community-building events and activities that increase social engagement and connection for veterans, military servicemembers, and their respective families. Total funds available: $73,000

3. Re+ Zero Waste Grants

Details: King County offers funding opportunities for non-profits, businesses, entrepreneurs, educational institutions, and local governments to support innovative projects that further King County’s commitment to zero waste of resources by 2030. Projects are related to recycling & composting, waste prevention, upcycling & reuse, and waste-to-fuel processes.

4. Comcast RISE
Applications are due Saturday, May 31 @ 11:59 p.m. EST. Apply now at this link!
Details: Comcast RISE is supporting the growth of all small businesses committed to uplifting their local communities. The program is built to help businesses, and their communities, thrive with a focus on economic growth. This year, Comcast RISE will award 500 recipients in five cities with a grant package that includes business consultation services, educational resources, monetary grant, creative production, media schedule, and a technology makeover.

5. ArtsFund Community Accelerator Grant
Applications are due Friday, June 6 @ 5:00 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: ArtsFund’s Community Accelerator Grant is a $10 million investment in Washington state’s arts and culture sector, providing grants to cultural nonprofit organizations across Washington state. The funds are intended to boost arts organizations’ ability to invest in their missions and essential roles serving communities across the state. Individual grants range from $2,500 to $25,000.

6. King County Community Development Block Grant
Applications are due Friday, June 20 @ 2:00 p.m. (Pre-applications are due Monday, May 19 @ 2:00 p.m.) Apply now at this link!
Details: This grant provides funding for community development, non-housing capital projects including acquisition, construction and rehabilitation of non-profit and public facilities, public improvements, housing rehabilitation, and economic development. An estimated $1 million of funds is available. Examples of eligible projects:
- Sidewalks
- Community and recreation facilities
- Child care and early learning facilities
- Sewer and water main projects
- ADA improvements
- Microenterprise assistance
- Park improvements
- Minor home repair programs
- Affordable family or youth housing

7. Community-Based Parenting Supports, Home-Based Services, and Universal Developmental Screening & Promotion

Details: The King County Public Health Department, via the Best Starts for Kids program, seeks partners who are reflective of and rooted in the communities they serve to offer strengths-based services that center relationships and trust to pregnant individuals, families, and children under the age of six. Partners will implement projects within the following areas:
- Community-Based Parenting Supports: community-centered services enhancing maternal-child health, encourage nurturing relationships, and increase caregiver knowledge of child development and social well-being
- Home-Based Services: support in the places families live to support healthy births, positive parenting, health education, child development, safe home environments, and school readiness
- Universal Developmental Screening & Promotion: information, training, tools, a connection among providers to ensure all King County children receive high-quality developmental screening throughout early childhood

8. 4Culture Landmarks Capital
Applications are due Wednesday, June 25 @ 5 p.m. Apply now at this link!
Details: 4Culture’s Landmarks Capital program supports the bricks-and-mortar projects that contribute to our region’s social, cultural, and historical identity. This program funds individuals and organizations who are working to rehabilitate designated historic landmarks in King County.
Projects that center marginalized communities and that contribute to the diversity of property types and histories represented in King County’s built environment will receive additional consideration. Grants are capped at $100,000.

9. King Conservation District Seed Money Grants
Rolling applications until Tuesday, September 30, 2025, or until funds are exhausted. Apply now at this link!
Details: Seed Money Grants support the creation of new community agriculture projects and help sustain existing projects. In turn, this promotes resilient food systems and communities and safeguards food sovereignty. Up to $3,500 in funding is available. Examples of eligible projects:
- Composting systems
- Micro (drip) irrigation
- Rainwater catchment
- Fruit tree/shrub plantings
- Native plantings
- Invasive species removal/weed control
