Rider impacts: 1 Line service disruptions April 14–23 

Light Rail

Sound Transit will perform critical rail repairs at the International District/Chinatown Station from April 14–23, affecting 1 Line light rail service through downtown Seattle. Southbound service will be closed in the downtown tunnel, and trains will operate on a single northbound track. Riders should expect trains every 25–30 minutes between Westlake and Stadium stations and should plan for transfers. Learn more about the upcoming 1 Line construction impacts. 

King County fare change in September 2025 

ORCA

The King County Council recently approved a $0.25 increase to standard adult transit fares, which will go into effect on September 1, 2025. This change will raise Metro bus fares to $3.00, aligning with Sound Transit’s updated $3.00 flat fare for Link light rail and Express bus service. Metro’s reduced fare programs—including ORCA LIFT, Youth, Senior, and Disability fares—will remain unchanged.

Link 2 Line service to Downtown Redmond begins May 10

The Link 2 Line will begin light rail service to Marymoor Village and Downtown Redmond on May 10, 2025. Trains will run every 10 minutes from 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., improving access and connections for Eastside commuters. This new extension builds on East Link connections and supports continued growth in East King County. Learn more about the upcoming Redmond Link station openings.

Sound Transit seeks public feedback on 2026 Service Plan

Sound Transit is beginning early outreach on potential changes to ST Express bus service as part of the 2026 Service Plan. The agency is requesting public feedback on how services can better meet community needs as light rail continues to expand across the region. Riders can complete an online survey to share input through April 21. Learn more about the 2026 Service Plan and take the survey.   

WSDOT launches new E-bike rebate program

E-bike

Washington State’s new E-bike rebate program launched this month, offering rebates of $300 or $1,200 to eligible applicants ages 16 and older. This limited-time program helps to promote electric bikes as a greener, more affordable mobility option. Applications are open from April 9–23 and rebates are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Learn more about the E-bike rebate program.
