Pipe testing to begin at 78th Ave S.E. and S.E. 24th St
Intersection to Reopen to Single Lane Traffic the Week of April 14
Crews expect to complete pipe repair work at the intersection of 78th Avenue Southeast and Southeast 24th Street next week. Once repairs are finished, the intersection will reopen to single lane traffic for vehicles and cyclists.
Crews will then begin pipe testing to ensure the conveyance system is operating as planned. This testing will confirm that the system is safe, reliable, and ready to provide dependable sewer service for your community.
Please travel slowly through the area and follow all signs, traffic control signals, and directions from crews.

Plans for final restoration:

Once these tasks are completed, crews will restore all disturbed areas based on permit conditions agreed upon with the City of Mercer Island. Final paving is weather dependent and will be scheduled during the permitted paving window. A notice with more details will be sent out, and the project website will be updated once final restoration and paving has been scheduled.
