On February 11, King County Executive Dow Constantine announced a proposal to renew the King County Parks Levy, a six-year property tax which funds the maintenance, operations, safety, programming and expansion of our parks, trails, and open spaces.
This 2026-2031 proposal was directly shaped by YOUR input. Through community meetings, surveys, and direct engagement, we heard what matters most to you: safety and belonging, as well as new parks, trails, recreation opportunities, and infrastructure.
That’s why this levy would make critical investments in increasing safety, enhancing recreation, improving facilities, and expanding our regional trails and outdoor spaces.
The proposal is now with the King County Council, which will decide whether to put it on the August ballot. This levy provides approximately 85% of King County Parks' total funding and helps ensure that public spaces remain clean, safe, and accessible for everyone.
