Hazardous materials are everywhere - from store shelves to our cabinets to our waterways and the air we breathe. With the 2025 Washington State legislative session underway, state lawmakers are working to tackle key hazardous waste issues impacting our region.
This year, we're tracking policies related to understanding the presence of "forever chemicals" (PFAS) in our region, limiting vape device sales, holding manufacturers of hazardous products responsible for their products' entire lifecycles, and more. Learn about these issues and their potential impacts for our region and for you.
Your hobby should feed your soul, not harm your health. Crafting and hobby supplies for practices like pottery, painting, and jewelry-making may sometimes contain hazardous materials. When planning a project, keep some of these safety tips and alternatives in mind when you make your next masterpiece.
