Expanding Mobile Crisis Teams to Reach More People, Faster

King County marked another milestone this week, launching its new mobile rapid-response crisis teams for adults, adding 10 new teams, plus new services and providers to the program.

The Downtown Emergency Service Center (DESC) has operated King County’s mobile crisis teams for adults since 2009 and will continue serving Seattle and Vashon. New providers for the program include Sound to operate teams in the North, East and South, and Crisis Connections to triage and dispatch mobile crisis teams when calls to 988 or the Regional Crisis Line require an in-person response.

The expansion is one of the Crisis Care Center Initiative's early investments for 2024.

Community Conversations

DCHS is hosting a series of community conversations across King County to reach communities in multiple languages with information about the crisis care centers and how to connect to crisis services today. Our first conversation in Spanish with NAMI Eastside was rescheduled for January 24th. Please see information in Spanish below to share this event! Additional conversations in more languages will be coming soon.
