Reagan Dunn speaks at the Memorial Dedication to a crowd
On Veterans Day, I had the distinct honor of speaking at the ribbon cutting for the Maple Valley Veterans Memorial dedication. I first became involved with this project in 2012, when I had the privilege of presenting a $2,500 Veterans Service Organization Grant to the Maple Valley Veterans Memorial Foundation. Since then, I’ve been very pleased to contribute $10,000 in county funding to the project over the last few years.
I fondly remember standing with the late Storm McNeil, a driving force behind this project, at the memorial site seven years ago to hear about the community’s vision for this memorial. Thank you to President of the Maple Valley Veterans Memorial Foundation, Brent Habernicht, and all the Foundation’s members and volunteers for their tireless work and advocacy on behalf of veterans in our community.
King County Parks is exploring a project proposed by the Northwest Disc Golf Association for an 18-hole backcountry style disc golf course in the forested area of Petrovitsky Park.
At this stage in the project, King County Parks is evaluating the opinion of the surrounding community on this proposal. If the proposal is approved, the next phase of engagement would involve environmental analysis and gathering feedback from the community to determine specific design options.
Share your thoughts by taking a short, 5 question survey by November 22. The results will be used to determine if this proposal moves forward or not.
