Regional Domestic Violence Firearms Enforcement Unit

The Regional Domestic Violence Firearms Enforcement Unit (RDVFEU) in the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office is seeking an attorney to fill a 2-year grant-funded term-limited Deputy Prosecuting Attorney (DPA) position. The DPA will help expand the unit’s capacity to ensure that the highest risk firearm cases are better addressed through:
- Screening, triage and acted upon in as close to real time as possible to reduce harm.
- Enabling existing DPA engagement in efforts to expand reach on Extreme Risk Protection Orders (ERPOs), DV Criminal and Civil Orders to Surrender and Prohibit Weapons (OTSW) compliance, and implementation and enforcement of firearm relinquishment laws.
- Outreach to law enforcement (local, state and federal), immediate case triage, replication and training.
