We have several grant opportunities that are available now and wanted to share them with you. Investing in our local non-profit organizations and supporting innovative ideas through funding is critical to help ensure each of our communities are able to thrive, now and into the future! The deadline for these grants is through December, so make sure you apply soon. Grant and Funding Sources
The following grant opportunities are listed in order of application due date, with the soonest deadline listed first. Any applications that have rolling deadlines are located towards the bottom of the list.
1. Mental Health Counseling RFP
Applications are due Wednesday, November 6th by 2 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: This RFP seeks to fund entities to provide mental health services to veterans, military servicemembers, and their respective family members, as well as seniors and their caregivers, in order to increase access to mental health care and reduce potential wait times.

2. Mobilizing Young Leaders Across Washington RFP
Letters of Intent are due Thursday, November 7th. Apply now at this link.
Details: The Paul G. Allen Family Foundation is launching a new initiative that will invest up to $5 million in new and existing programs in Washington state that develop youth impact through leadership training, civic engagement, and/or youth organizing. There is up to $500,000 per awardee.

3. Infant Mortality Prevention Network RFA

Details: BSK is seeking to partner with community-based organizations to provide direct services and educational outreach as identified by community to support the health and well-being of babies, pregnant and parenting individuals, and families. The mission of the Infant Mortality Prevention Network is to eliminate the effects of systemic racism on infant mortality rates across King County by supporting communities that face the highest disparities and disproportionality in outcomes. There is approximately $473,000 available for this project.

4. Promoting First Relationships – Agency Training Project RFA

Details: This RFA seeks community-based agency staff to participate in the PFR Train-the-Learner training model or Train-the-Trainer training model. This funding opportunity is open to agencies with staff who work for a non-profit human service agency in King County with education/experience in social work, psychology, early intervention, early childhood education, home visiting, or related fields. There is approximately $94,215 available for this project.

5. Workforce Development Mini Grants RFA
Applications are due Monday, November 18th by 4 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: The prenatal to five workforce does incredible work to support babies, children, and their families. This RFA seeks to fund smaller organizations (15 employees or fewer) to enhance their workforce skills and knowledge in three key areas of Workforce Development: Early Childhood Development, Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health, and Racial Equity. There is a total of $150,000 for this project, and applicants may request up to $9,999.

6. Crisis Care Centers RFP
Applications are due Friday, November 22nd by 2 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: King County Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS) has opened the RFP to select behavioral health agencies to operate the first crisis care centers (CCC)! This is a major milestone as it kicks off the process to site, build and open a regional network of five crisis care centers across King County to serve as a new front door for people in crisis.
CCC operators will be behavioral health organizations responsible for siting, capital development, and ongoing operations of the centers. This RFP will make available up to $498 million of CCC Levy, Medicaid, and commercial funds through 2032. Agencies that are “launch ready,” able to provide clinical services soon after being selected, must submit a full proposal by November 22, 2024, and contracts will be awarded in January. New site operators that will need to develop new facilities have until March 21, 2025 to submit a proposal, and contracts will be awarded in June.

7. 2025 Alan M. Painter Community Engagement Grants
Applications are due Friday, December 13th by 5 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: King County’s Alan M. Painter Grant Program funds community projects that allow unincorporated area residents to participate in, and be more connected to, their communities and King County. A total of $90,000 will be reimbursed for projects in 2025, in individual grants of less than $5,000 per project.

8. Youth Sports Grants

Details: All Kids Play provides funding to families and communities who lack the resources to pay for youth sports. Grants are available to qualifying families with kids in grade K-12 and not-for-profit community-based recreational sports organizations in low-income areas on a need and first-come, first served basis as funds are available. Individual grants can be used for registration, equipment and other associated fees for sports classes, recreational leagues, and travel sports.

9. Working Connections Child Care

Details: Working Connections Child Care (WCCC) helps eligible families pay for childcare. When a family qualifies for subsidy benefits and chooses a provider, the state pays a portion of the cost of childcare. Parents may be responsible for a copayment to their provider each month. Families experiencing homelessness may be approved for up to 12 months to help resolve issues surrounding homelessness.

10. Emergency and Unforeseen Funds

Details: 4Culture's Emergency and Unforeseen grants meet a wide variety of unexpected facility needs for cultural organizations, and their funds are available for actual costs incurred to repair or renovate cultural spaces.

11. Horizons Foundation of Washington Grants
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Apply now at this link.
Details: Horizons is a private family foundation whose primary purpose is to address social and environmental concerns in Washington State. They award grants to non-profits in three areas: the environment, social services, and arts and culture. Grants are awarded from as low as $1,000 and up, and grants to applicants in the Arts and Direct Emergency Services categories are typically capped at $5,000.
