Utility potholing work on 78th Avenue Southeast between Southeast 22nd Place and Southeast 24th Street
Expect single-lane traffic with flaggers starting October 10
|
|
Crews locating utilities and prepping site for upcoming pipe repair work:
Starting October 10, crews will be working on 78th Ave S.E. They will begin at the intersection of S.E. 22nd Pl and 78th Ave S.E. and work down 78th Ave S.E. towards S.E. 24th St. Locating utilities and preparing the site for pipe repairs is expected to take place until October 21. Upcoming pipe repairs in this area are necessary after pipe testing.
Locating utilities helps crews avoid service disruptions during construction. To locate utilities, crews use a jackhammer to break-up pavement. Then, they use a vacuum excavation truck to remove dirt and locate buried utilities. Once utilities have been located and site preparation is complete, crews will be doing repairs. We will send a notice to the Area 2 project list serv and update the project website with more details about upcoming work in this area.
