Temporary above-ground sewer pipe installation begins as early as mid-October

Expect to see crews and construction vehicles as early as Monday, October 14

Crews have continued making progress on the Interbay Sewer and Odor Control Upgrade Project and will soon begin a new phase of work.

Starting as early as Monday, October 14, and continuing until Summer 2025, crews will construct a temporary above-ground bypass pipeline. The pipe will extend from the Interbay Pump Station to just north of the Interbay Golf Center. It will carry flows during the summer months between 2025 and 2027 so that upgrades can occur inside the existing sewer pipes. Please see the map below for reference.

For more information about sewer upgrades, read our Newsletter.

Map shows the location of the temporary bypass pipeline extending from the Interbay Pump Station to just north of the Interbay Golf Center.

A black pipe on the ground runs parallel to a roadway and is protected by concrete barriers.
