East Lake Sammamish Parkway single-lane closures start October 9

Work along East Lake Sammamish Parkway starts October 9

King County’s Sammamish Plateau Diversion Project team is scheduled to start work along East Lake Sammamish Parkway Northeast next week on Wednesday, October 9 at 9 a.m. On Wednesday morning, crews will begin work by closing a single lane of East Lake Sammamish Parkway Northeast near Northeast 26th Place. 

During this work, the project team will be drilling along East Lake Sammamish Parkway Northeast to sample soil and install groundwater monitoring wells. The project team will be working at each drilling site for one to two days. This work will take about two to three weeks to complete, depending on field conditions. 

We will keep you updated on the progress of this work once it begins, and let you know about any changes to the project schedule.

What to expect

A map of the general work area can be viewed below. During this work, you can expect:

  • Temporary single-lane or turn-lane closures on East Lake Sammamish Parkway Northeast between Northeast 49th Place and Northeast Inglewood Hill Road between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. 
  • Work hours between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • Work to take place for about one to two days at each drilling location. 
  • Message signs on East Lake Sammamish Parkway Northeast with advance notice of closures.
  • Flaggers directing drivers through the area.
  • Local and emergency access will be maintained during the closure. 
  • Flaggers will treat school buses as an emergency vehicle to reduce delays. 
  • Noise, dust, and vibrations typical of a construction site.
