Featured Funding Opportunity: Crisis Care Centers RFP
Letters of Intent are due Friday, October 25th by 2 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: King County Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS) has opened the RFP to select behavioral health agencies to operate the first crisis care centers (CCC)! This is a major milestone as it kicks off the process to site, build and open a regional network of five crisis care centers across King County to serve as a new front door for people in crisis.
CCC operators will be behavioral health organizations responsible for siting, capital development, and ongoing operations of the centers. This RFP will make available up to $498 million of CCC Levy, Medicaid, and commercial funds through 2032. Agencies that are “launch ready,” able to provide clinical services soon after being selected, must submit a full proposal by November 22, 2024, and contracts will be awarded in January. New site operators that will need to develop new facilities have until March 21, 2025 to submit a proposal, and contracts will be awarded in June.

1. Partners in Water Program
Applications are due Monday, September 30th by 11:59 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: The King County Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD) is offering six grants of either $25K or $27.5K each to help enhance community engagement and amplify career pathway education in wastewater infrastructure projects.

2. Community-based Violence Intervention and Prevention Initiative
Applications are due Sunday, October 6th by 11:59 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: The Washington Department of Commerce is seeking proposals from entities interested in building regional capacity to reduce gun violence, directly impacting the safety and well-being of their communities. The selected proposers will assemble a Community Safety Council to steer local violence reduction efforts, including conducting a landscape analysis and designing a violence reduction plan. Proposers can apply for up to $100K.

3. Centering Diverse Healers for Youth Well-Being RFP
Applications are due Friday, October 18th by 5 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: This RFP seeks to fund creative ideas and approaches that support diverse youth mental health providers, healers, and wellness supporters connected to LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities and support retention of diverse providers, healers, and general supporters of youth mental health within the field. There is $300K budgeted for each award.

4. Recreational Trails Program Grant

Details: The Recreational Trails Program provides federal funds to rehabilitate and maintain trails that provide a backcountry experience. This grant program invests in all types of trails, including those for riding off-road vehicles, bicycling, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, hiking, horseback riding, motorcycling, water trails, and more. There is a total of $3.6 million in available funding, with a limit of $150K per award.

5. No Child Left Inside Grant

Details: Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission's No Child Left Inside (NCLI) grant program provides quality opportunities for underserved, underrepresented, and historically excluded youth to learn, play, and experience the outdoors. There is a total of $4.5 million in available funding, with a limit of $150K per award.

6. Youth Sports Grants
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Apply now at this link.
Details: All Kids Play provides funding to families and communities who lack the resources to pay for youth sports. Grants are available to qualifying families with kids in grade K-12 and not-for-profit community-based recreational sports organizations in low-income areas on a need and first-come, first served basis as funds are available. Individual grants can be used for registration, equipment and other associated fees for sports classes, recreational leagues, and travel sports.

7. Working Connections Child Care

Details: Working Connections Child Care (WCCC) helps eligible families pay for childcare. When a family qualifies for subsidy benefits and chooses a provider, the state pays a portion of the cost of childcare. Parents may be responsible for a copayment to their provider each month. Families experiencing homelessness may be approved for up to 12 months to help resolve issues surrounding homelessness.

8. Emergency and Unforeseen Funds

Details: 4Culture's Emergency and Unforeseen grants meet a wide variety of unexpected facility needs for cultural organizations, and their funds are available for actual costs incurred to repair or renovate cultural spaces.

9. Horizons Foundation of Washington Grants

Details: Horizons is a private family foundation whose primary purpose is to address social and environmental concerns in Washington State. They award grants to non-profits in three areas: the environment, social services, and arts and culture. Grants are awarded from as low as $1,000 and up, and grants to applicants in the Arts and Direct Emergency Services categories are typically capped at $5,000.
