Plans for paving and access to S.E. 35th Pl
Crews have been installing pipe in the roadway and constructing underground odor control and diversion structures in the cul-de-sac on S.E. 35th Pl. After finishing up pipe installation in the S.E. 35th Pl roadway, crews will backfill, restore, and pave the road.
Paving is expected to happen as early as the middle of September. During paving, residents can expect single lane traffic and temporary access impacts to driveways. We will email this listserv and update the project website when paving dates are confirmed. We will also share more details on the paving schedule and impacts to residents in the S.E. 35th Pl neighborhood. After paving is complete, crews will restore S.E. 35th Pl to two-way traffic. Residents will be able to access their homes from East Mercer Way.
Temporary access roads
Due to the location of work along the roadway, crews installed temporary detour roads for residents to access their homes. The temporary road off the cul-de-sac was removed in July. The temporary road off Frontage Road remains in place for residents on S.E. 35th Pl east of the cul-de-sac. This is to keep everyone safe while crews work on air vaults in the road and prepare the area for paving and restoration.
Remaining construction activities
Crews will continue be in the area to work on structures in the cul-de-sac and complete planting and other restoration activities along the roadway.
In addition, crews need to return at a later date to complete a water tie-in in the roadway. This is expected to take place on S.E. 35th Pl east of Briarwood Lane and may have traffic impacts. We will share more information once more details are known about that work.
