We have several grant opportunities that are available now and wanted to share them with you. Investing in our local non-profit organizations and supporting innovative ideas through funding is critical to help ensure that each of our communities are able to thrive, now and into the future! The deadline for these grants is through August, so make sure you apply soon. Grant and Funding Sources
The following grant opportunities are listed in order of application due date, with the soonest deadline listed first. Any applications that have rolling deadlines are located towards the bottom of the list.
1. VSHSL Senior Villages Funding
Applications are due Tuesday, July 30th by 2 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: The Veterans, Seniors, and Human Services Levy (VSHSL) team seeks to fund the ongoing development and operations of geographically based or culturally affiliated Senior Villages, or organizations like Senior Villages, to support diverse and low-income Seniors to age well in their communities of choice and remain stably housed. There is approximately $2.3 million in funding available.

2. King County Early Support for Infants and Toddlers (ESIT) - Career Pathways Scholarship Pilot RFA

Details: The purpose of King County’s Early Support for Infants and Toddlers (ESIT) program is to retain current ESIT workforce members, create career pathways for existing ESIT staff, and strengthen the ability of ESIT providers to work effectively with diverse families. If committed to working at a King County contracted ESIT agency, applicants may request up to $1,000 per credit hour, with a maximum of $800 per credit hour toward Educational Expenses and $200 per credit hour toward a Stipend to account for lost wages.

3. VSHSL Gender-Based Violence System Navigation and Mobile Advocacy Funding Opportunity

Details: The Veterans, Seniors, and Human Services Levy (VSHSL) team seeks to fund a community-based survivor-centered network of mobile advocates equipped with flexible emergency financial assistance for adult survivors of Gender-Based Violence, Human Trafficking, and Commercial Sexual Exploitation. There is approximately $15.7 million in available funding.

4. BSK Positive Family Connections RFP
Applications are due Thursday, August 8th by 2 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: The BSK Positive Family Connections strategy helps strengthen and build positive relationships between parents, caregivers, and young people. This RFP seeks to fund programs and activities that support families with youth to strengthen family relationships, particularly the relationship between the young person and their parents/adult caregivers. Funding is not for one-time projects or events but continuous programming. There is approximately $3.2 million in funding available.

5. VSHSL Benefit Application and Appeals Assistance Funding Opportunity
Applications are due Friday, August 9th by 2 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: The Veterans, Seniors, and Human Services Levy (VSHSL) team seeks to fund one or more entities to assist low-income or disabled individuals in making initial applications and appeals for federal and state income-generating benefits and programs. There is approximately $3.7 million in available funding.

6. Capacity Building Small Grant 2024 RFA
Applications are due Friday, August 16th by 2 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: This RFA seeks to support the infrastructure needed to enhance capacity of community-based organizations to provide services and programming. This includes systems, resources, and processes that sustain the key functions of an organization. Examples of resources that could be supported by this funding opportunity include but are not limited to: Information Technology equipment; Program equipment; Office equipment; and Professional development for staff. There is approximately $795K in available funding.

7. WA Department of Commerce Building Communities Fund Grants
Applications are due Thursday, August 22nd by 5 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: The WA State Department of Commerce has opened the 2025-27 funding round for the Building Communities Fund. The program awards state grants to tribes and nonprofit community-based organizations to pay for up to 25% of eligible capital costs to acquire, construct, or rehabilitate nonresidential community and social service projects.

8. VSHSL Housing Counseling and Foreclosure Prevention and Housing Legal Aid combined Funding Opportunity

Details: The Veterans, Seniors, and Human Services Levy (VSHSL) team seeks to fund agencies that help support housing stability for low- and fixed income veterans, seniors, and vulnerable populations who are homeowners and renters in King County. There is approximately $4.5 million in available funding.

9. Youth Sports Grants

Details: All Kids Play provides funding to families and communities who lack the resources to pay for youth sports. Grants are available to qualifying families with kids in grade K-12 and not-for-profit community-based recreational sports organizations in low-income areas on a need and first-come, first served basis as funds are available. Individual grants can be used for registration, equipment and other associated fees for sports classes, recreational leagues, and travel sports.

10. Working Connections Child Care

Details: Working Connections Child Care (WCCC) helps eligible families pay for childcare. When a family qualifies for subsidy benefits and chooses a provider, the state pays a portion of the cost of childcare. Parents may be responsible for a copayment to their provider each month. Families experiencing homelessness may be approved for up to 12 months to help resolve issues surrounding homelessness.

11. Emergency and Unforeseen Funds

Details: 4Culture's Emergency and Unforeseen grants meet a wide variety of unexpected facility needs for cultural organizations, and their funds are available for actual costs incurred to repair or renovate cultural spaces.

12. Horizons Foundation of Washington Grants

Details: Horizons is a private family foundation whose primary purpose is to address social and environmental concerns in Washington State. They award grants to non-profits in three areas: the environment, social services, and arts and culture. Grants are awarded from as low as $1,000 and up, and grants to applicants in the Arts and Direct Emergency Services categories are typically capped at $5,000.
