Your input is very important to us. We want these materials to reflect the different cultures in our AFH community in King County.
Please take 2 minutes to complete this short survey. Your answers will guide us in creating materials that are useful for you! Thank you.

COVID-19 Cases are on the Rise in King County
COVID-19 cases are rising and many AFHs in King County are reporting that their residents or caregivers recently tested positive. Older adults and individuals with health conditions like heart and lung disease, diabetes, and conditions that impact the immune system are at highest risk for complications from COVID-19.
The current 2023-2024 COVID-19 vaccine continues to protect against the variants of COVID-19 people are catching now. Getting caught up on vaccinations will provide the best defense against severe disease and long-term complications, like Long COVID. Take steps to keep your residents, caregivers, and family members healthy by offering vaccinations at your AFH.
It’s time to schedule COVID-19 vaccinations for:
-
Everyone ages 65 and older who has not received a COVID-19 vaccine in the past 4 months.
-
All adults (and children ages 6 months and older) who last received a COVID-19 vaccine before September 2023.
Anyone who recently tested positive for COVID-19 may consider delaying their vaccination by up to 3 months.
Schedule No-Cost In-Home COVID-19 Vaccinations this Summer
King County’s In-Home COVID-19 Vaccine Program is available to vaccinate your residents and caregivers. Most insurance plans are accepted. Free vaccinations are available for anyone who is uninsured or who has insurance that doesn’t fully cover the cost of vaccination.
Call 206-848-0243 or email vaccineinfo@kingcounty.gov to schedule an appointment. We will connect you to a mobile vaccination team that will come to your location.
People who get vaccinated now will still be eligible for the new 2024-25 COVID-19 vaccine when it becomes available this fall. They will need to wait a minimum amount of time in between doses. We will have more information about timing between doses once the new vaccine is here.
Plan Ahead for Fall Vaccinations
This fall, updated COVID-19 vaccines for the 2024-2025 respiratory season will be available for everyone 6 months and older. The vaccinations are updated to better protect against new variants of COVID. We anticipate that the new COVID-19 vaccines may be given at the same time as flu and RSV vaccines.
Start making a fall vaccination plan for your residents to protect against respiratory viruses.

Keep Your Residents Safe in the Heat and Smoke
