Temporary Frontage Road closure planned for evening of July 7 through July 12
Expect flaggers directing local access to Southeast 35th Place

As early as the evening of Sunday, July 7, Frontage Road will temporarily be closed to through traffic. Flaggers will direct local access to S.E. 35th Pl. This closure will be in place until Friday morning, July 12. During this time access to the Mercer Island Boat Launch will be maintained through a detour with flaggers directing traffic. Frontage Road and regular access to the Mercer Island Boat Launch will reopen on Friday, July 12. |

Expect 24-hour work during this closure
During this closure, crews will be working along Frontage Road on a 24-hour schedule, as approved by the City of Mercer Island. Crews are working on a structure and installing pipe near a narrow part of the roadway. To safely complete this work Frontage Road will need to be closed. Temporarily extending construction work hours helps crews complete this complex work more quickly. Most of the nighttime activities will be within the trench and are not expected to be louder than noise typically heard by the nearby freeway.
Local access maintained
During the Frontage Road closure, local access to S.E. 35th Place and the Herzl-Ner Tamid Conservative Congregation will be maintained.

What to expect
- Permitted 24-hour work from July 7 through July 12.
- Flaggers will direct local access traffic to S.E. 35th Pl.
- Detour to the Mercer Island Boat launch.
- All work will be performed in the public right-of-way.
- Noise, dust, and vibrations typical of an active construction project.
- Emergency vehicle access will be maintained.
- Garbage, recycling, composting, and mail service will be maintained.
