We have several grant opportunities that are available now and wanted to share them with you. Investing in our local non-profit organizations and supporting innovative ideas through funding is critical to help ensure that each of our communities are able to thrive, now and into the future! The deadline for these grants is through July, so make sure you apply soon. Grant and Funding Sources
The following grant opportunities are listed in order of application due date, with the soonest deadline listed first. Any applications that have rolling deadlines are located towards the bottom of the list.
1. Addressing Childhood Obesity and Health Inequities Funding
Applications are due Thursday, June 27th by 12 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: This call for proposal from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation seeks projects with the potential to support, sustain, and evolve the field in promoting systems-level change to prevent childhood obesity, address structural racism, and advance health equity. Applicants can apply for a minimum of $1 million in funding.

2. King County Behavioral Health and Recovery Division (BHRD) Capital Improvements
Applications are due Friday, June 28th by 2 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: The purpose of this RFA is to support organizations to make necessary capital improvements, repairs, renovations, and/or expansions in behavioral health treatment facilities located in King County. The goal of these improvements is to improve access to and availability of behavioral health services by assisting with costs associated with building repairs, renovations and/or expansion of existing behavioral health provider facilities.

3. Carrs Foundation Local Neighborhood Grant
Applications are due Sunday, June 30th. Apply now at this link.
Details: The Safeway and Albertsons Companies Foundations are seeking to fund organizations that strengthen our local neighborhoods. They support nonprofit organizations whose mission is aligned with their priority areas: Health and Human Services; Hunger; Youth and Education; Veterans; and Supporting Diversity and Inclusion of All Abilities. Organizations can typically receive between $2,500 - $10,000 in funding.

4. VSHSL Resilient Communities Reentry Spanning Services Funding
Applications are due Friday, July 12th by 2 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: The Veterans, Seniors, and Human Services Levy (VSHSL) team seeks to support one or more entities to provide services that support reentry of formerly incarcerated persons in King County including, but not limited to, interim housing and systems navigation, family support services, employment resources, flexible financial assistance, and access to culturally responsive healing practices. There is approximately $1.9 million in funding available.

5. VSHSL Veteran Civil Legal Aid Clinic or Fellowship Funding

Details: The Veterans, Seniors, and Human Services Levy (VSHSL) team seeks to award funds to a program operated by, or affiliated with, an accredited school of law whose students will provide legal aid for veterans, servicemembers, and their families through a clinic or fellowship model. There is approximately $1.2 million in funding available.

6. 2024 Regional Food System Grant Opportunity
Applications are due Thursday, July 18th by 8 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: King Conservation District (KCD) launched the Regional Food System (RFS) Program in 2015 in response to King County’s Local Food Initiative, a roadmap that guides the region toward a stronger, more resilient local food economy that supports both food producers and communities. This grant program aims to support the following Local Food Initiative goals: (1) Better connect local farms to consumers; (2) Increase access to healthy affordable foods in underserved areas; (3) Support farmers and protect farmland; and (4) Create a sustainable farm-to-plate pipeline more resilient to the effects of climate change. There is a total of $440,000 in funding available.

7. Healthy and Safe Environments RFP
Applications are due Tuesday, July 23rd by 2 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: This funding opportunity will support work on healthy and safe environments in four investment areas: (1) Healthy food and food access; (2) Physical activity; (3) Unhealthy substances and dangerous products; and (4) Safe and health-promoting environments. There is a total of $2.9 million in funding available.

8. VSHSL Senior Villages Funding
Applications are due Tuesday, July 30th by 2 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: The Veterans, Seniors, and Human Services Levy (VSHSL) team seeks to fund the ongoing development and operations of geographically based or culturally affiliated Senior Villages, or organizations like Senior Villages, to support diverse and low-income Seniors to age well in their communities of choice and remain stably housed. There is approximately $2.3 million in funding available.

9. Working Connections Child Care

Details: Working Connections Child Care (WCCC) helps eligible families pay for childcare. When a family qualifies for subsidy benefits and chooses a provider, the state pays a portion of the cost of childcare. Parents may be responsible for a copayment to their provider each month. Families experiencing homelessness may be approved for up to 12 months to help resolve issues surrounding homelessness.

10. Emergency and Unforeseen Funds

Details: 4Culture's Emergency and Unforeseen grants meet a wide variety of unexpected facility needs for cultural organizations, and their funds are available for actual costs incurred to repair or renovate cultural spaces.

11. Open 4Culture Funds

Details: Through this grant -- which has no deadline -- 4Culture awards amounts up to $1,500 to cultural doers serving underserved populations across the county. Artists and arts groups operating outside of Seattle and those working in Heritage and Preservation anywhere in King County may apply.

12. Horizons Foundation of Washington Grants

Details: Horizons is a private family foundation whose primary purpose is to address social and environmental concerns in Washington State. They award grants to non-profits in three areas: the environment, social services, and arts and culture. Grants are awarded from as low as $1,000 and up, and grants to applicants in the Arts and Direct Emergency Services categories are typically capped at $5,000.
