Crews Have Been Busy Upgrading the North Mercer Pump Station |
|
A lot of work is happening at the North Mercer Pump Station. Most of the work is taking place inside the facility as new pumps, electrical equipment, and pipes are being installed. |
|
Temporary single-lane traffic
As early as June 24, crews will be connecting pump station utilities to the existing water pipe on S.E. 22nd St. This work is expected to take about two weeks. As part of this work single lane traffic will be in place for about three days. The roadway will be restored to two-way traffic after work hours.
As work progresses, you may experience single-lane traffic near the pump station. This can be for equipment deliveries or work that extends outside of the pump station site.
Please use caution traveling through this area and follow all instructions from crews and signs.

Odor control
Outside the pump station, crews have been pouring a new concrete slab that is part of the new odor control system. The tank that will be on top of the slab helps keep pump station smells under control.
