Your Weekly Update on What's Happening at the King County Council  

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Yesterday, nearly 500 people joined us via Zoom and in person at the fourth annual King County Conference on Substance Use! The opposite of addiction is connection—and having the chance to connect with others in recovery and those who support them is a great privilege.

This year’s theme was “A Vision for Hope,” focusing on highlighting pathways and opportunities for individuals along their journey of recovery. It will take all of our communities working together to reverse the rising overdose trend we are seeing in King County—but we know that recovery is always possible, and that together, we can provide more opportunities and support for those who are on their recovery journey.

Dunn visits Newcastle City Council to present State of the County

I enjoyed connecting with the councilmembers, hearing updates about the Newcastle community, and presenting to the Council on the State of King County. Fairwood Market Night is June 12

The next Fairwood Market Night is coming up on Wednesday, June 12, 4-8 PM at Northwood Middle School! Stop by to shop from local farmers and small businesses, grab dinner from a food truck, and enjoy live music.

Launched by Fairwood community members in 2012, I’m pleased to support Fairwood Market Night through King County grants, including a $10,000 budget appropriation and a $3,500 Allan Painter Grant, and enjoyed participating in the ribbon cutting that opened the market for the summer season! King County Behavioral Health and Recovery Division (BHRD) Capital Improvements

The purpose of this RFA is to support organizations to make necessary capital improvements, repairs, renovations, and/or expansions in behavioral health treatment facilities located in King County. The goal of these improvements is to improve access to and availability of behavioral health services by assisting with costs associated with building repairs, renovations and/or expansion of existing behavioral health provider facilities.
