On June 5, 2024, the King County Council's Local Services and Land Use Committee took action on the proposed 2024 King County Comprehensive Plan. Proposed Ordinance 2023-0440 includes the proposed 2024 Comprehensive Plan and technical appendices, the Snoqualmie Valley / Northeast King County Subarea Plan, changes to the development regulations, and land use proposals. The Committee also voted to move the updates to the Countywide Planning Policies (Proposed Ordinance 2023-0438) related to the Four-to-One Program.
The Committee voted on a proposed striking amendment and individual amendments to the striking amendment to the 2024 Comprehensive Plan. The committee also voted on a striking amendment to the Countywide Planning Policies. The Committee then voted to move both pieces of legislation, as amended, on to the full Council for consideration with a "do pass" recommendation. Final adoption of the 2024 Comprehensive Plan at the full Council is scheduled for December 2024, after a format public hearing on November 19, 2024.
