We have several grant opportunities that are available now and wanted to share them with you. Investing in our local non-profit organizations and supporting innovative ideas through funding is critical to help ensure that each of our communities are able to thrive, now and into the future! The deadline for these grants is through June, so make sure you apply soon. Grant and Funding Sources
The following grant opportunities are listed in order of application due date, with the soonest deadline listed first. Any applications that have rolling deadlines are located towards the bottom of the list.
1. Youth Recreational Facilities Program Grants
Applications are due Tuesday, May 28th by 5 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: This program aims to support up to 25% of eligible capital costs for the acquisition, construction and/or major renovation of nonresidential youth recreational facilities. These funds are focused on recreational buildings integrated with social and/or educational services. Agencies may request up to $1.2 million.

2. Glaser Foundation Grants
Applications are due Friday, May 31st. Apply now at this link.
Details: The Glaser Foundation is currently focused on direct-line services, mainly to children and the elderly. They are seeking to fund organizations who are focused on the following areas: (1) Medical; (2) Services to Children with Disabilities; (3) Education; (4) Services to the Elderly; (5) Services to Children and Families from Disadvantaged Backgrounds; and/or (6) Services to At-Risk Youth.

3. VSHSL Employment Training, Placement, and Supports Funding Opportunity
Applications are due Friday, May 31st by 2 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: This RFP is seeking to fund programs that mitigate historic and current institutional and systemic racism and marginalization by offering unemployed and underemployed job seekers supports and by removing barriers to employment and training programs, with a focus on BIPOC communities, immigrant and refugee communities, people experiencing homelessness, people impacted by the criminal legal system, people with disabilities, the LGBTQ community, Veterans, and Seniors.

4. 2024 Flood Reduction Grants
Applications are due Friday, May 31st by 11:59 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: The King County Flood Control District announced the availability of $12M in grant funding for projects that reduce the impact of flooding. These grants are for small and medium local flood reduction projects that address existing or potential flooding. Eligible applicants include HOAs, schools, non-profits, tribes, cities and towns, and King County agencies. There is no minimum or cap on the individual award amount. Grants awarded in the past have ranged from $10,000 to $1,500,000.

5. Foss Foundation Grant

Details: The June and Julian Foss Foundation has a mission to promote change in the life situations of young people to help them grow into healthy, responsible adults. The Foundation is seeking to fund projects that focus on children and young adults and have funding specifically for organizations who serve children and young adults with mental illness or physical disabilities.

6. Tulalip Cares: Charitable Fund Grant

Details: The Tulalip Tribes community impact funds are committed to improving arts and culture, education and youth, the environment, health care, public safety, and social services in our communities

7. The Charlotte Martin Foundation Grant

Details: The Charlotte Martin Foundation is dedicated to enriching the lives of youth and preserving and protecting wildlife and habitat. The Foundation is focused on funding organizations that serve the following: (1) Rural BIPOC youth; and (2) Climate change, biodiversity, and wildlife and habitat preservation. For those requesting support for youth programs, the Foundation will continue to focus on rural BIPOC organizations and allowing organizations to use funds for general operating support.

8. Salmon Recovery Planning Grants

Details: The Department of Commerce, in collaboration with the Puget Sound National Estuary Program and the Stormwater and Habitat strategic initiative leads, is offering salmon recovery planning grants to local governments and tribes. These funds aim to advance the Governor’s statewide salmon recovery strategy and align with the Puget Sound National Estuary Partnership’s investment priorities. Approximately $3.2 million in funding is available.

9. VSHSL Request for Proposal (RFP) for Veteran Provider Training Supports

Details: The Veteran Provider Training Supports RFP from VSHSL focuses on funding entities to provide trainings and cultural competency to the veteran-serving community on key issues that affect veterans, military servicemembers, and their families.

10. Umpqua Bank Charitable Foundation Community Grants

Details: The Umpqua Bank Foundation aims to invest in nonprofit organizations to support programming that builds healthy, prosperous, sustainable, and inclusive communities. Their Priority Focus Areas include: (1) Economically Vibrant Communities; (2) Healthy Communities; (3) Inclusive Communities; and (4) Sustainable Communities. They fund projects for direct programming and/or general operating support between $5,000 and $10,000.

11. King County Behavioral Health and Recovery Division (BHRD) Capital Improvements

Details: The purpose of this RFA is to support organizations to make necessary capital improvements, repairs, renovations, and/or expansions in behavioral health treatment facilities located in King County. The goal of these improvements is to improve access to and availability of behavioral health services by assisting with costs associated with building repairs, renovations and/or expansion of existing behavioral health provider facilities.

12. Working Connections Child Care

Details: Working Connections Child Care (WCCC) helps eligible families pay for childcare. When a family qualifies for subsidy benefits and chooses a provider, the state pays a portion of the cost of childcare. Parents may be responsible for a copayment to their provider each month. Families experiencing homelessness may be approved for up to 12 months to help resolve issues surrounding homelessness.

13. Emergency and Unforeseen Funds

Details: 4Culture's Emergency and Unforeseen grants meet a wide variety of unexpected facility needs for cultural organizations, and their funds are available for actual costs incurred to repair or renovate cultural spaces.

14. Open 4Culture Funds

Details: Through this grant -- which has no deadline -- 4Culture awards amounts up to $1,500 to cultural doers serving underserved populations across the county. Artists and arts groups operating outside of Seattle and those working in Heritage and Preservation anywhere in King County may apply.

15. Horizons Foundation of Washington Grants

Details: Horizons is a private family foundation whose primary purpose is to address social and environmental concerns in Washington State. They award grants to non-profits in three areas: the environment, social services, and arts and culture. Grants are awarded from as low as $1,000 and up, and grants to applicants in the Arts and Direct Emergency Services categories are typically capped at $5,000.
