On Tuesday, May 28 and Wednesday, May 29, crews plan to prepare and pave the lower section of 90th Pl S.E. (between 89th Pl S.E. and Shorewood Dr) on northeast Mercer Island. Crews will also prepare and pave a section of Shorewood Dr near North Mercer Way and 90th Pl S.E. This will return the road to conditions as good or better than before construction began.
Grinding to prepare roadway planned for May 28
Crews will remove asphalt and prepare the roadway for paving. This includes demoing asphalt driveway approaches that have been impacted by construction.
Flaggers plan to direct single-lane traffic through the paving area on Shorewood Dr. Residents on 90th Pl S.E. and 89th Pl S.E. should be able to drive to and from their homes. Residents may need to wait up to 10 minutes while driving through the paving area. Please drive carefully over rough pavement, follow instructions from crews, and plan for short delays.
Paving to restore roadway planned for May 29
Crews will pave 90th Pl S.E. between 89th Pl S.E. and Shorewood Dr. Crews will also pave a section of roadway on Shorewood Dr near North Mercer Way and 90th Pl S.E. Flaggers will direct single-lane traffic on Shorewood Dr.
We expect paving to take approximately one day to complete. However, some paving activities are weather dependent. If paving is rescheduled due to weather conditions, we will email the project list serv and update the project website.
Important information during paving planned for May 29

During work hours on May 29, all driveways on 90th Pl S.E. and 89th Pl S.E. will be temporarily inaccessible. Shorewood Dr will be open with single-lane traffic through the paving area.

Please move your cars by 7 a.m.
Crews will walk neighbors up and down the street to cars and homes. To help our team coordinate parking, please place a paper with your phone number on the dash of your car so we can contact you if needed.
