Two-day closure on I-90 trail near Covenant Shores as early as May 30 |
|
As early as May 30, crews will temporarily close a section of the I-90 trail between Covenant Shores and S.E. 35th St. to fix water ponding. Ponding happens when water pools on the surface of the trail and does not drain away. Fixing this now will help reduce issues to the pavement, landscaping, and for trail users.
This work is expected to take up to two days. During this time a section of the I-90 trail will be closed. Pedestrians will use crosswalks to detour to the sidewalk on North Mercer Way that is across the street from the trail. Cyclists can detour to the sidewalk or merge with traffic on North Mercer Way. Please follow signage and use caution when traveling through this area. Drivers, please use caution and drive slowly through this area while detours are in place.
As a reminder, the section of I-90 trail east of North Mercer Way remains closed for construction. Please follow the trail detour route on North Mercer Way and S.E. 36th St. S.E. 35th St. is not a thoroughfare and is for local access only.
During the temporary trail closure, pedestrians should use crosswalks to cross to the sidewalk on the north side of North Mercer Way. Cyclists can use the sidewalk or merge with traffic along North Mercer Way. Please follow signage and use caution while traveling through the area.
