Mercer Island Boat Launch parking lot reopening in June

As early as Tuesday, May 28, crews will begin paving and restoring the Mercer Island Boat Launch parking lot where construction equipment was being stored. Once completed, this will return the parking lot to a condition as good or better than before construction began. Work is expected to take up to a week. Once paving is complete, the entire parking lot will be open to Mercer Island Boat Launch users.
Construction activities continue near Frontage Rd.
Crews continue to install pipe and restore the area near Frontage Road. When driving through the area, please use caution and follow directions from signs, flaggers and, and traffic control signals. The temporary access road between Frontage Road and S.E. 35th Pl. is for local access only.

What to expect

Approved work hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.
- Work outside these hours will be done as approved by the City of Mercer Island.
- Construction equipment moving out of Mercer Island Boat Launch parking lot.
- Access to the Mercer Island Boat Launch will be maintained. Please be aware of ongoing construction while moving through Frontage Rd.
- Emergency vehicle access will be maintained.
- All paving will be performed in the existing construction staging area.
