Striking Amendments Released
Since transmittal of the 2024 Comprehensive Plan in December, the Local Services and Land Use Committee has held seven regular committee meetings to discuss the Executive's transmitted Plan, and four evening meetings in the community to hear public comment. Based on Committee discussion, public comments, requests from Councilmembers, and deliberations with the Executive, the Local Service and Land Use Committee Chair has issued proposed Striking Amendments to the 2024 Comprehensive Plan and to the Countywide Planning Policy amendments. The amendments are available on the Council's Comprehensive Plan website.
As a reminder, the Council's Local Services and Land Use Committee will hold two meetings where public comment will be taken:

Wednesday, May 15, beginning at 9:30 a.m. At this meeting, Council staff will brief the Chair’s Striking Amendments. No votes will be taken at this meeting. This meeting will allow for in person or virtual public comment.

Thursday, May 16. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. and the meeting will start at 6:30 p.m., at the Skyway VFW, 7421 S 126th St, Seattle, WA 98178.This meeting will only allow for in-person participation; written and verbal public comment will be accepted, after a short briefing by Council staff.
Public Comment Opportunities
Written comments on the proposed plan are welcome at any time during the Council’s review. Comments can be submitted electronically by emailing CouncilCompPlan@kingcounty.gov. The Council looks forward to your involvement in the review of the proposed 2024 Comprehensive Plan.
