You are invited to a Veterans, Seniors, and Human Services Levy (VSHSL) virtual Community Planning Session to share plans and provide feedback on an upcoming funding opportunity: Senior Villages. This investment will support seniors to remain in their communities, aging in place, through the support of members of their communities, or senior villages.
Join us for a virtual Community Planning Session
Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 3:00 – 4:30pm on Zoom.
For access needs, please contact Traci Adair at tadair@kingcounty.gov by 5:00pm, Thursday, April 25, 2024. We will do our best to provide any requested accommodations. If we are not able to provide a requested accommodation, we will work with you to identify another way to receive your feedback.

At this Community Planning Session, we will discuss:
- Living in a supportive community helps people age in place. What are elements of a supportive community? Do these elements exist in your community?
- This procurement will build on the existing VSHSL Senior Village model that is grounded in the characteristics of the national Village to Village Network (vtvnetwork.org). What tools, resources, and/or practical supports are needed to implement this model in your community?
- What does an effective implementation of the Senior Village model look like for you and your community?
- What considerations should be included in this request for proposal/funding opportunity to ensure that King County is being racially, ethnically, culturally, and regionally inclusive in addressing the community needs?
- How can Senior Villages complement other senior services in the community to promote housing stability (or the ability to age in one’s own home or community)?
- What do Senior Villages do that other programs do not?
- How can VSHSL funds best support Senior Villages to partner with other service providers to leverage resources and opportunities for older adults?
