We have several grant opportunities that are available now and wanted to share them with you. Investing in our local non-profit organizations and supporting innovative ideas through funding is critical to help ensure that each of our communities are able to thrive, now and into the future! The deadline for these grants is through May, so make sure you apply soon. Featured Grant Opportunities
We are excited to share that our 2024 Council Grant Applications are open! As we continue to meet with our local organizations, we recognize there are many needs that often go unfulfilled. We want to ensure you have access to funding opportunities through our office! There are four grants that are open, and details are below. Councilmanic Grants
There are 4 separate categories that organizations can apply for. You may apply for more than one, but this must be done on separate applications. Please make such to differentiate between the applications and requested needs:

Community Service Grants: Can be awarded to any non-profit or local government to help further community needs, including but not limited to food banks and pantries. We have a total of $25,000 to award in 2024 and a minimum of $2,500.

Veterans Service Organization Grants: Can be awarded to any veterans’ services organization for any reason. We have a total of $15,000 to award in 2024, with a minimum award of $2,500.

Housing Stability Grants: Can be awarded to city or county-level government agencies, unincorporated areas, tribes, or community-based organizations that support local housing stability. We have a total of $60,000 to award in 2024, with a minimum award of $5,000 each.

Get Active, Stay Active: Can be awarded to organizations who provide youth and amateur sports and fitness programs, or organizations who support programs for senior residents. Funding can be used for program implementation costs, such as coaching or space rentals, camp and program fee scholarships, athletic and fitness equipment, or capital projects. We have a total of $100,000 to award in 2024 and there is a minimum of $5,000.

The following grant opportunities are listed in order of application due date, with the soonest deadline listed first. Any applications that have rolling deadlines are located towards the bottom of the list.
1. Public Free Access Grant
Applications are due Wednesday, March 27th by 5 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: This program aims to reduce the significant barrier that admission fees pose to many King County residents and visitors in accessing quality, relevant, cultural experiences. Grants may be used to support free and reduced cost participation in existing, new, or restarted arts, heritage, or preservation cultural experiences. There is a total of $300,000 in grant funding available in this cycle.

2. Snoqualmie Indian Tribe Grant Funding
Applications are due Sunday, March 31st. Apply now at this link.
Details: The Snoqualmie Tribe is soliciting applications from nonprofit organizations providing services in the following areas. The Tribe will select one (or more, where noted) organizations to receive the specified donation amount in each area:

Habitat Restoration: Up to $50,000 for nonprofit organizations working to restore habitat for fish and wildlife.

Snoqualmie Valley Community Services: Up to $50,000 for nonprofit organizations serving the Snoqualmie Valley and its diverse communities.

Veterans Services: Up to $50,000 for organizations providing services and programming to Veterans and their families.
- Native Services – Up to $50,000 for organizations supporting the Native community whether through the arts, health and wellness, culture, or other.

Family Services: Up to $50,000 for organizations that provide support services for families (Subcategories: Homelessness/emergency shelter services, Infant/Youth services, Rehabilitation, Domestic Violence Support, Food Scarcity)

Senior/Elder Services: Up to $50,000 for organizations supporting elderly individuals to promote independence and enhance their quality of life.

Arts & Culture: Up to $50,000 for organizations working with artists and community groups and increasing access and diversity in arts and culture.

Environmental Education: Up to $50,000 for organizations working to increase public awareness and knowledge about environmental issues including climate change.

3. Arts and Culture Grants
Applications are due Monday, April 15th. Apply now at this link.
Details: Arts and Culture Grants will support the promotion and management of artistic and cultural forms of expression as tourism assets. These include art shows, concerts, festivals and events, as well as museums, historic sites, cultural institutes, and creative districts. Groups may request up to $30,000 in grant funding.

4. Home-Based Services Supportive Environments RFA
Applications are due Tuesday, April 16th by 3 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: The purpose of this RFA is to facilitate the co-development of an environment in which home-based services can thrive. This RFA is seeking a facilitator able to assemble and hold space for a home-based services collaborative advisory group as well as to work with this group of representatives to identify community priorities, actionable next steps, and support the implementation of their goals. There is a total of $184K available in funding.

5. BIPOC Voices on Mental Health and Wellness Community Listening Project RFA

Details: To better understand the diversity of needs and experiences, DCHS is seeking to fund up to 12 small Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) that provide mental health and/or wellness support within their community to participate in the Be Heard: BIPOC Voices on Mental Health and Wellness Community Listening Project. Awarded organization will hold Community Conversations and Key Informant Interviews with members of the communities they serve. Applicants may request up to $9,999 in funding.

6. King County Landmark Nomination Support Grants
Applications are due Wednesday, April 24th by 5 PM. Apply now by emailing emily.lawsin@4culture.org.
Details: This grant funds the preparation of local landmark nominations for historic places in King County. It is open to individuals, groups, and municipalities that have a property owner’s consent for landmark designation. Funds can be used to support historic preservation consultant fees or other expenses related to the preparation of a landmark nomination. Awards typically range from $1,000 to $10,000.

7. Positive Family Connections Family Network RFP
Applications are due Friday, April 26th by 2 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: This RFP seeks to fund activities that support families with young people ages 5-24 as they navigate their changing relationships to strengthen the family, particularly the relationship between the young person and their parents/adult caregivers. Funding can be one-time projects or events in 2024, and creative ideas are welcomed. There is a total of $130K available in funding.

8. Land and Water Conservation Fund

Details: The Land and Water Conservation Fund provides funding to preserve and develop outdoor recreation resources, including parks, trails, and wildlife lands. There is a total of $14 million in available funding and applicants may request grants between $200,000 and $2 million.

9. Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program Grants

Details: The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program provides funding for a broad range of land conservation efforts, from conserving natural areas near big cities to protecting the most pristine and unique collections of plants in the state, including some of last remaining plant species in the world. The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program was envisioned as a way for the state to accomplish two goals: acquire valuable recreation and habitat lands before they were lost to other uses and develop recreation areas for a growing population. There are several grants available in this program:
10. Youth Athletic Facilities Grant
Applications are due Wednesday, May 1st. Apply now at this link.
Details: The Youth Athletic Facilities program provides grants to buy land and develop or renovate outdoor athletic facilities such as ball fields, courts, swimming pools, mountain bike tracks, and skate parks that serve youth through the age of 18. There is a total of $11.2 million in available funding and applicants may request grants between $25,000 and $1.5 million.

11. Working Connections Child Care
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Apply now at this link.
Details: Working Connections Child Care (WCCC) helps eligible families pay for childcare. When a family qualifies for subsidy benefits and chooses a provider, the state pays a portion of the cost of childcare. Parents may be responsible for a copayment to their provider each month. Families experiencing homelessness may be approved for up to 12 months to help resolve issues surrounding homelessness.

12. Emergency and Unforeseen Funds

Details: 4Culture's Emergency and Unforeseen grants meet a wide variety of unexpected facility needs for cultural organizations, and their funds are available for actual costs incurred to repair or renovate cultural spaces.

13. Open 4Culture Funds

Details: Through this grant -- which has no deadline -- 4Culture awards amounts up to $1,500 to cultural doers serving underserved populations across the county. Artists and arts groups operating outside of Seattle and those working in Heritage and Preservation anywhere in King County may apply.

14. Horizons Foundation of Washington Grants

Details: Horizons is a private family foundation whose primary purpose is to address social and environmental concerns in Washington State. They award grants to non-profits in three areas: the environment, social services, and arts and culture. Grants are awarded from as low as $1,000 and up, and grants to applicants in the Arts and Direct Emergency Services categories are typically capped at $5,000.
