Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is accepting grant applications to improve the distribution of edible, unsold food to feed people while reducing food going to waste. This grant will provide seed funding to test innovative approaches that could ultimately be scaled or replicated with private sector, nonprofit, or philanthropic funding. AgWest Farm Credit is now accepting applications for the 2024 New Producer Grant. Farmers with less than 2 years of experience planning to start a new farm business are eligible to receive this $15,000 one-time grant. Applications accepted until May 31, 2024. Learn more here.
USDA is currently accepting applications from universities and other education organizations for Beginner Farmer and Rancher Development programming. WSDA is currently accepting applications for the Local Food System Infrastructure grant through April 17, 2024. Rapid & Ready grants are for straightforward projects and equipment purchases that can be completed on a relatively short timeline.
