Metro Transit has an exciting career service opportunity for a Transportation Planner IV with our Transit Route Facilities group (TRF). This is an outstanding opportunity for a high performing individual to secure a senior-level role with one of North America's premier public transit agencies.

TRF is responsible for the ongoing development and management of Metro's system of 7,000+ bus stops and layover facilities. TRF includes two teams: the Bus Stop Management Team and the Project Improvements and Partnerships Team. This Transportation Planner IV position will lead the Project Improvements and Partnerships team responsible for planning, supporting, and managing projects that improve and construct bus stops to support the growth of Metro's transit network. Responsibilities include leading the team, managing projects, and managing the program’s budget. The individual in this position will represent Metro in key interagency and regional planning efforts. Much of the work involves collaborating with staff from across multiple Metro divisions and developing partnerships with local jurisdictions. This position reports to the Superintendent of Transit Route Facilities.

Some current project examples include new bus stops to support Sound Transit Link Integration, partnering with the City of Seattle to improve the roadway and bus stop on Third Ave South, and constructing ADA access Improvements on SR-520 at Evergreen Point and Yarrow Point.

This recruitment may be used to generate a pool for future Career Service, Term Limited Temporary (TLT), and Special Duty Assignment (SDA) positions that may occur in this classification. The pool would be valid for twelve months from the date of posting.
