UPDATE: Overnight equipment offloading at East Mercer Way onramp to I-90 Westbound

Overnight March 12, 10:30 p.m. - 2 a.m.

Exit 8 at Mercer Island will remain open for vehicles entering and exiting I-90

We previously notified about construction equipment offloading taking place on March 5. The schedule for this work has been updated in order to reduce traffic impacts. Crews plan to work at the East Mercer Way onramp to I-90 Westbound overnight on March 12 between 10:30 p.m. and 2 a.m.

The right HOV lane will be closed while crews unload and move an excavator into the work area on Southeast 35th Place near East Mercer Way.

Flaggers and uniformed police officers will direct traffic from East Mercer Way onto I-90 Westbound using the left lane. Temporary traffic holds may take place while crews ensure the area is safe to pass. Please use caution while driving through the work area and follow all directions from flaggers and officers.

What to expect:

  • Work outside of typical work hours has been approved by the City of Mercer Island.
  • Emergency vehicle access will be maintained.
  • Flaggers and uniformed police officers directing traffic through the work area.
  • All work will be performed in the public right-of-way.
