Committee Briefing – Wednesday, February 7
The Council's Local Services and Land Use Committee will hold a briefing on the Executive's transmitted 2024 Comprehensive Plan on Wednesday, February 7th, beginning at 9:30 a.m. The meeting will be in a hybrid format; public comment will be accepted submitted in writing, in person in the Council Chambers on the 10th Floor of the King County Courthouse, at 516 3rd Ave, Seattle, WA, or through the Zoom webinar. Information on how to participate in Committee meetings is available on the Committee website.
The 2024 Comprehensive plan is items 5, 6, and 7 on the Committee agenda, and will include a discussion of:
- Chapter 1, Regional Growth Management Planning
- Chapter 2, Urban Communities
- Growth Targets and Urban Growth Area Appendix
A written staff report will be provided and will be posted to the website when it is available.
Special Committee Meeting – Thursday, February 8
The Council's Local Services and Land Use Committee will hold a special meeting on the 2024 Comprehensive Plan on Thursday, February 8th. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. and the meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Covington City Hall, at 16720 SE 271st Street, Suite 100, Covington, WA 98042. The meeting will be in a hybrid format; public comment will be accepted submitted in writing, in person, or through the Zoom webinar. Schedule Update
The Council's review and adoption schedule has been updated. It now shows the times of Committee meetings, shows when the Four-to-One Program changes will be discussed in Committee, and shows that the March 6, 2024 Local Services and Land Use Committee meeting will be a joint meeting with the Health and Human Services Committee, so that both Council committees can hear about the housing and human services proposals. Written comments on the proposed plan are welcome at any time during the Council’s review. Comments can be submitted electronically by emailing CouncilCompPlan@kingcounty.gov. The Council looks forward to your involvement in the review of the proposed 2024 Comprehensive Plan.
