Your Weekly Update on What's Happening at the King County Council

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

This week, Councilmember Mosqueda and I led the King County Council in proclaiming January as Human Trafficking Awareness Month in King County. This month is a time to raise awareness about the horrific crime that is human trafficking and educate the public on how to identify and report signs of trafficking.

Human Trafficking Awareness Month

The King County Council with Kirsten Foot, CEO of Businesses Ending Slavery and Trafficking

Human trafficking is an egregious assault on human dignity and liberty, and a crime that happens all too often here in King County. Awareness of the issue is key. By learning to see and report the signs of human trafficking all around us, every person—including you and me—can help stop human trafficking and bring justice to survivors. Rememberif you witness possible signs of human trafficking, you can call the National Human Trafficking Hotline anytime for help: 1-888-373-7888.

Thank you to Kirsten Foot, CEO of Businesses Ending Slavery and Trafficking (BEST), for joining us and accepting the proclamation.

All my best,

Councilmember Reagan Dunn Signature
