We have several grant opportunities that are available now and wanted to share them with you. Investing in our local non-profit organizations and supporting innovative ideas through funding is critical to help ensure that each of our communities are able to thrive, now and into the future! The deadline for these grants is in February or March, so make sure you apply soon. Grant and Funding Sources
The following grant opportunities are listed in order of application due date, with the soonest deadline listed first. Any applications that have rolling deadlines are located towards the bottom of the list.
1. The Terry Husseman Account (THA) Grant
Applications are due Tuesday, February 6th. Apply now at this link.
Details: The Terry Husseman Account is a grant program focused on locally sponsored projects that restore or enhance the natural environment. Eligible project types: riparian restoration, aquatic land geographic information systems (GIS), wetland restoration, stream bank stabilization, fish and wildlife habitat enhancement, and/or livestock exclusion fencing. Grant awards are up to a maximum of $50,000.

2. National Fish Habitat Partnership Pacific Lamprey Grant
Applications are due Tuesday, February 6th. Apply now at this link.
Details: This is a great opportunity to fund lamprey specific work, including passage, restoration, monitoring, or outreach projects. Funding up to $350K is available.

3. Promoting First Relationships – Agency Training Project
Applications are due Wednesday, February 7th by 5 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: Promoting First Relationships (PFR) – Agency Training is an evidence-based curriculum that trains service providers in the use of practical, in depth, effective strategies for promoting secure and healthy relationships between caregivers and young children ages birth to five. There is a total of $128K available.

4. US Affordable Connectivity Program
Applications are due February 7th by 9 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: The Affordable Connectivity Program is a US Government program that helps ensure that households can afford the broadband they need for work, school, healthcare and more. The benefit provides a discount to help low-income households pay for internet service and connected devices like a laptop or tablet.

5. King County Conservation Futures Grant
Applications are due Monday, February 12th. Apply now at this link.
Details: Conservation Futures grants are used to buy open space lands or easements such as natural areas, urban green spaces, passive parks, regional trails, farms, and forests. Funds can be awarded to cities, King County, park districts, and eligible nonprofit nature conservancies and historic preservation associations. There is more than $11.5 million in funding available.

6. WRIA 8 Funding for Salmon Conservation
Applications are due at various timelines below. Apply now at this link.
Details: The WRIA 8 Salmon Recovery Council (SRC) annually seeks grant proposals for salmon habitat restoration and protection projects, salmon-focused outreach and education programs, and priority monitoring and assessment activities occurring within the WRIA 8 watershed boundaries. Upcoming grant opportunities include:

Salmon Recovery Funding Board (SRFB): The SRFB program primarily funds habitat restoration and protection projects, including project design, as well as riparian focused projects. There is a total of over $1 million in funding available. Applications are due Friday, February 23rd.

King County Flood Control District (FCD) Cooperative Watershed Management (CWM) Grant: This program supports priority salmon recovery activities within King County watersheds and includes habitat restoration and acquisition projects (including riparian projects), monitoring and assessment activities, and education and outreach programs. There is a total of $4.1 million in funding available. Applications are due Wednesday, March 20th.

7. RFA: Capital Improvements of Behavioral Health Treatment Facilities
Applications are due Tuesday, February 27th by 2 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: The purpose of this RFA is to support organizations to make necessary capital improvements, repairs, renovations, and/or expansions in behavioral health treatment facilities located in King County. The goal of these improvements is to improve access to and availability of behavioral health services by assisting with costs associated with building repairs, renovations and/or expansion of existing behavioral health provider facilities. There is a total of $5 million to be allocated in 2024.

8. Rural Tourism Marketing and Production Grants
Applications are due Thursday, February 29th. Apply now at this link.
Details: Rural Tourism Marketing and Production Grants will help destination communities create promotional assets to support marketing goals. Tourism stakeholders may request up to $50,000 in grant funding for content creation that includes but is not limited to photos, video, and written content.

9. Streamflow Restoration Grants
Applications are due Thursday, February 29th. Apply now at this link.
Details: This grant is a biennial grant cycle with up to $40 million available focused improving stream flows, such as, altered water management, water right acquisition, water storage, feasibility studies, and floodplain, riparian, and wetland restoration.

10. 2024 Healthy Communities and Parks Funds
Applications are due Monday, March 4th by 8 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: The Healthy Communities and Parks Fund (HCPF), also called the Targeted Equity Grants program, supports projects that increase access to recreation and use of parks, open spaces, and recreational facilities in underserved areas and communities. This grant program intends to reduce health disparities in underserved communities and invest to meet the needs of their residents. Tier 1 offers awards up to $15K in funding and Tier 2 offers awards between $15K and $250K.

11. 2024 Youth & Amateur Sports Grants
Applications are due Monday, March 4th by 8 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: King County's Youth and Amateur Sports Grants (YASG) supports fit and healthy communities by investing in programs and capital facility projects that increase access to sports, play, and outdoor recreation. There is a total of $3.5 million in available funding in 2024, with awards up to $250K for construction and $100K for programs.

12. WA Tourism Sports Incentivization Grant
Applications are due Friday, March 15th. Register here for a webinar to learn more about the grant.
Details: This grant is intended to help nonprofit entities incentivize NEW sports tournaments/competitions that will bring overnight visitors to a destination to spur economic activity. Successful applicants will be able to reserve dollars from a pool to help pay down room nights or provide amenities pending a successful bid. The max grant ask is $30,000.

13. WRIA 7 Cooperative Watershed Management Grant
Applications are due Monday, March 25th. Apply now at this link.
Details: The CWM grants are intended to recover salmon species and restore watershed ecosystems. The priorities, driven primarily by WRIA 7 salmon conservation plans, include habitat restoration and protection, water quality improvements, regionally coordinated monitoring, watershed planning, stewardship, outreach, and education. The King County Flood Control District approved $2.2 million to fund watershed restoration and protection projects in the Snoqualmie & South Fork Skykomish Watersheds.

14. Working Connections Child Care

Details: Working Connections Child Care (WCCC) helps eligible families pay for childcare. When a family qualifies for subsidy benefits and chooses a provider, the state pays a portion of the cost of childcare. Parents may be responsible for a copayment to their provider each month. Families experiencing homelessness may be approved for up to 12 months to help resolve issues surrounding homelessness.

15. Emergency and Unforeseen Funds

Details: 4Culture's Emergency and Unforeseen grants meet a wide variety of unexpected facility needs for cultural organizations, and their funds are available for actual costs incurred to repair or renovate cultural spaces.

16. Open 4Culture Funds

Details: Through this grant -- which has no deadline -- 4Culture awards amounts up to $1,500 to cultural doers serving underserved populations across the county. Artists and arts groups operating outside of Seattle and those working in Heritage and Preservation anywhere in King County may apply.

17. Horizons Foundation of Washington Grants

Details: Horizons is a private family foundation whose primary purpose is to address social and environmental concerns in Washington State. They award grants to non-profits in three areas: the environment, social services, and arts and culture. Grants are awarded from as low as $1,000 and up, and grants to applicants in the Arts and Direct Emergency Services categories are typically capped at $5,000.
