Transit Operations Chief (North Base)

Metro Transit’s Bus Operations Division is seeking to hire a Transit Operations Chief at North Base! This career service position is open to all qualified candidates.

Transit Chiefs play a critical role in overseeing and managing daily Transit operations and the services we provide to the community. As a Chief, you’ll provide policy direction, foster a customer service-oriented environment, collaborate with union leaders and internal stakeholders, and serve as a valuable resource for employees at the worksite.  

This leadership role requires the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse employee workgroup, proactively solve problems that affect service delivery, provide quality customer service, and motivate employees by building respect and trust. Transit Chiefs promote teamwork and resolve conflicts that arise, promoting a cooperative environment and effective communication. Transit Chiefs are proactive in facilitating good working relationships, demonstrating cooperative interactions, promoting teamwork with new members, facilitating inclusion, and demonstrating flexibility in accomplishing shared goals.
