Victim Advocate- Protection Order Advocacy Program

The King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Victim Advocate in the Protection Order Advocacy Program (POAP).  The person in this role will be responsible for providing advocacy for petitioners who seek domestic violence orders for protection. Familiarity of domestic violence dynamics, enthusiasm working with diverse populations, and a good understanding of the various ways those experiencing trauma or its aftermath may behave are key to this role. If you seek enriching, meaningful work and a chance to serve your community while working as part of a collaborative team, this opportunity may be for you. 

This is a special duty assignment/TLT position and is anticipated to last through the end of 2024.

Work Location: In-person/telecommuting hybrid;  King County Courthouse in Seattle & Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent.  This position will be partially telecommuting but will require a physical presence in the office location as business needs dictate. The successful candidate will be provided with a County-issued laptop and must maintain a remote workspace with an internet connection where work can be reliably performed and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours. 


The PAO requires for all employees to reside in Washington State and within a reasonable distance to their primary county worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.  

Work Schedule:  This position works a 40-hour work week schedule, normally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position is eligible for King County’s generous benefits package and is covered by the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. 

 

Salary: Range 50-- $35.27 (step one) - $44.77 (step ten) hourly* 


Union Membership: Positions in this classification are represented by Teamsters Local No. 117.
