If you are planning to travel this weekend, keep in mind that all lanes of southbound I-405 will close in Renton from 11 p.m. Friday until 4:30 a.m. Monday. Drivers will be detoured off the southbound freeway at Exit 3/Talbot Road South, then to Southwest Grady Way where they’ll proceed west to the Interurban Avenue/I-405 interchange for reentry to I-405.
This closure will allow contractors demolish the damaged half of the Lind Avenue Southwest overpass. Over the next several weeks, WSDOT will close southbound lanes of I-405 overnight as contractors install new girders, followed by partial lane closures to build the new Lind Avenue deck. For more information on this project, see the Seattle Times article here.
