Redmond Health through Housing meet and greet on Monday
On Monday, October 23 from 7:00 to 8:00 pm, The Salvation Army, the new Redmond Health through Housing site operator, will hold a meet and greet at the Redmond site (2122 152nd Ave NE, Redmond). King County staff and City of Redmond staff will also be there. The meet and greet kicks off the robust and ongoing community outreach that The Salvation Army will lead throughout the program’s operation.
Stop by to learn more, ask questions, and share your thoughts about how the operator, government partners, and community can work together to make this facility successful for everyone involved.
Health through Housing is a King County program that acquires former hotels and transforms them into safe, supportive housing for people at risk of or experiencing chronic homelessness, along with 24/7 staffing and comprehensive services to help keep them housed. The Redmond site will house 100 people and is slated to open in 2024.
Election season has arrived - has your ballot?
This week, King County Elections mailed ballots for the November 7 election. If you are registered to vote, you should receive your ballot by Monday, October 23. If your ballot doesn’t arrive, you can call 206-296-VOTE (8683) to request a replacement ballot.
If you aren’t registered but are eligible to vote, there’s still time! Register to vote online or by mail by October 30 or at a vote center location up until 8:00pm on Election Day. Please note that the vote center in East King County, which is typically at Bellevue College, is now located at Bellevue City Hall.
Ballots must be postmarked by Election Day (no postage necessary!) or returned by 8:00pm on Election Day at one of 78 drop boxes across the county. If you need assistance to vote, visit a vote center. Once you have voted, track your ballot through King County Elections’ ballot tracker—make sure your voice is heard!
