COVID-19 vaccinations are among the greatest scientific feats achieved during the pandemic. The COVID-19 pandemic has reemphasized the need for Public Health to support vaccination access and to help close the gap in healthcare resource disparities.

We are seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a COVID-19 Vaccination Program Manager (Project/Program Manager III) for COVID-19 Vaccine Distribution Programs in the Community Health Services Division. This position will provide operational support including supervision to COVID-19 vaccination site(s) and Community Vaccination Events Team. The vaccine distribution strategies include multiple modalities such as regular brick and mortar vaccination clinics, mobile teams, community vaccination events, at-home vaccinations, etc.

COVID-19 vaccination site(s) will be re-opening in King County, as an effective method for accelerating community vaccination distribution for the upcoming respiratory season. These site(s) are expected to be open six (6) days per week and to operate at least eight (8) hours per day, with the possibility to extend these hours/days of operation depending on vaccine demand. In addition, site(s) will serve as a hub for mobile vaccination operations that will serve home bound individuals and other populations in need for vaccinations who are not able to receive COVID-19 vaccination in regular vaccination settings.

This Special Duty opportunity is anticipated to last for six (6) months. Special Duties are open only to current Career Service King County employees who have passed their probationary period and have their supervisor’s permission to take a Special Duty. Prior to applying to this position, please have your supervisor’s approval to take a Special Duty.

The successful candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and work well in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. This position will report to the COVID-19 Vaccination Manager in the Community Health Services Division of Public Health. This position is based in the Chinook Building in Downtown Seattle; however, it is expected that work time will be spent onsite at the South King County vaccination clinic, on the field at Vaccination Events, and telecommuting from home occasionally.
