We have several grant opportunities that are available now and wanted to share them with you. Investing in our local non-profit organizations and supporting innovative ideas through funding is critical to help ensure that each of our communities are able to thrive, now and into the future! The deadline for these grants is in August or September, so make sure you apply soon. Grant and Funding Sources
The following grant opportunities are listed in order of application due date, with the soonest deadline listed first. Any applications that have rolling deadlines are located towards the bottom of the list.
1. Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD) Services RFP
Applications are due Wednesday, August 23rd by 2 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: This RFP seeks a qualified organization to facilitate the LEAD program. LEAD is a program designed to divert individuals from the justice system who are engaged in low-level drug crime. The program seeks to help individuals with behavioral health issues avoid coming into repeated contact with the criminal legal system.

2. NW Children's Foundation Grant
Applications are due Friday, August 25th by 5 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: The NW Children's Foundation (NWCF) has a grant opportunity available to local agencies that provide support systems for children need to be in a safe, nurturing environment, alleviating the stresses and deficiencies that can lead to abuse and neglect. They are focused on investing in programs that focus on helping children, strengthening families, and ultimately empowering youth. NWCF grants generally range from $5,000 to $20,000.

3. Cultural Equipment Grants
Applications are due Wednesday, August 30th by 5 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: Cultural Equipment grants fund the purchase and installation of equipment for arts, heritage, and preservation organizations that can be considered as fixed assets, including computer hardware. These grants are awarded in amounts ranging from a minimum of $1,000 to $10,000, and projects often receive partial funding.

4. MIDD Rural Behavioral Health Grants
Applications are due Friday, September 8th by 2 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: This program seeks to fund organizations located in rural Community Service Areas who are focused on providing behavioral health services to rural King County residents. Successful applications for the grant will support the development, strengthening, and/or implementation of creative, innovative, culturally, and linguistically responsive approaches There is a total of $1.825 million to be allocated.

5. Local Parks Maintenance Grants
Applications are due Monday, September 18th. Apply now at this link.
Details: This program helps communities in need address maintenance backlogs for key local parks facilities and capital improvements. Grants can be used for general maintenance trails, restrooms, picnic sites, playgrounds, signs, and kiosks. There is a total of $5 million to be allocated, with a limit of $100,000 per project.

6. Landmarks Capital Grants
Applications are due Wednesday, September 27th by 5 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: The Landmarks Capital program supports the bricks-and-mortar projects that contribute to our region’s identity. If you are the steward of a designated historic landmark property in King County and are working to rehabilitate it, you should consider applying for a Landmarks Capital grant. These grants are capped at an allocation of $35,000.

7. Public Free Access Grant
Applications are due Friday, September 29th by 5 PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: The Public Free Access program aims to reduce the barrier that admission fees pose to many residents— particularly underserved communities—and visitors in accessing quality, relevant, cultural experiences. Funds may be used to provide free or reduced cost admission to your cultural programs, events, venues, or activities—existing, new, or restarting in 2023. There is a total of $50,000 to be allocated and organizations may request $1,000 or $2,000 in funding.

8. Working Connections Child Care

Details: Working Connections Child Care (WCCC) helps eligible families pay for childcare. When a family qualifies for subsidy benefits and chooses a provider, the state pays a portion of the cost of childcare. Parents may be responsible for a copayment to their provider each month. Families experiencing homelessness may be approved for up to 12 months to help resolve issues surrounding homelessness.

9. US Affordable Connectivity Program

Details: The Affordable Connectivity Program is a US Government program that helps ensure that households can afford the broadband they need for work, school, healthcare and more. The benefit provides a discount to help low-income households pay for internet service and connected devices like a laptop or tablet.

10. Emergency and Unforeseen Funds

Details: 4Culture's Emergency and Unforeseen grants meet a wide variety of unexpected facility needs for cultural organizations, and their funds are available for actual costs incurred to repair or renovate cultural spaces.

11. Open 4Culture Funds
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Apply now at this link.
Details: Through this grant -- which has no deadline -- 4Culture awards amounts up to $1,500 to cultural doers serving underserved populations across the county. Artists and arts groups operating outside of Seattle and those working in Heritage and Preservation anywhere in King County may apply.

12. Horizons Foundation of Washington Grants

Details: Horizons is a private family foundation whose primary purpose is to address social and environmental concerns in Washington State. They award grants to non-profits in three areas: the environment, social services, and arts and culture. Grants are awarded from as low as $1,000 and up, and grants to applicants in the Arts and Direct Emergency Services categories are typically capped at $5,000.

13. King County Child Care Financial Assistance Program

Details: King County has allocated $7 million of its federal ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) funding to support King County families with the cost of their child care. Eligible families may receive financial assistance to pay for their child care at eligible providers.
