Your Weekly Update on What's Happening at the King County Council

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

This week, I introduced legislation that would provide toolkits to community organizations so they can help educate people on the dangers of using fentanyl.

Fentanyl is the leading cause of death across our nation for Americans age 18-45. Here in King County, the number of people dying from fentanyl continues to rise, with fatal fentanyl overdoses having increased by over 550% since 2019.

It is my hope that through partnerships with local organizations, we can amplify our awareness efforts so that every parent and every child knows that even just one pill can take your life.

I will continue to keep you updated as this legislation moves through Council.

All my best,
