Your Weekly Update on What's Happening at the King County Council  

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

It’s almost Primary Election Day! Today is the last day to return your ballot by mail to ensure that it is postmarked in time for your vote to be counted. However, you still have until 8 PM on Tuesday, August 1 to drop your ballot into a drop box near you!

If you still need to research your vote and can’t find your voters’ pamphlet, you can find one online or at a local King County library. You can also read about the items on your ballot and track your ballot online at the My Voter Information webpage.

King County Elections is projecting only a 35% voter turnout, and I’m hoping we can beat that! Thank you for voting.

Dunn speaks about flooding at national conference

I was recently invited to present at the National Association of Flood & Stormwater Management Agencies (NAFSMA) Conference, where thought leaders from public works agencies around the country and federal officials attend to listen, collaborate, and innovate on water infrastructure.

As Chair of the King County Flood Control District, I was honored to talk about the District’s important work protecting people and property in King County from flooding, the most prevalent natural disaster in our region. I am particularly passionate about ensuring that our economic infrastructure is resilient to flood damage while also being a good steward of our natural environment. Last chance to apply for a WaterWorks grant!

The King County Council’s WaterWorks Grant Program provides funding for projects that improve water quality in King County. Applications are now open for the 2023-2024 grant cycle and are due on Monday, July 31.
